Bittersweet Memories (Sapphire)

Sapphire was calm for the most part after slapping him in the face. Ok, so this Oce wasn't nice, neither was she for the most part. Sapphire also knew Uriel's mother for a time. She was a rather sweet woman with a dangerous background, which she also didn't mind. But when he said that she was sexier, oooohhh she was not sorry for this one. Sapphire clenched her fists, but instead extended them and slapped him so hard he fell backwards off the stump. "That I am not sorry for!" Sapphire turned away from him and crossed her arms. This was her angry state, and she will stay in this state for as long as needed be. Sometimes, it takes years to stop being angry at someone, or maybe only a few days. This type of anger would probably only last until Uriel explains himself ... if he can weasel his way outta this one.

Uriel shook off the impact as he landed pretty hard on the ground and basically shook his head off. He was such an idiot. How did he survive the Spetsnaz training again? Uriel stood up and rubbed his cheek before shrugging " I deserved that, love." Uriel tried to walk the stunned expression on his face off before scooting next to her again and speaking "You're still the most beautiful woman in my eyes moya. You're one half of the number one woman in my heart!" he exclaimed before kissing her cheek, hoping she'd accept his apology.

Sapphire crossed her arms and didn't look at him for the longest moment. But how could she stay mad at him? This was the man who she committed murder and many other crimes with. This was her shield brother, and most importantly, he was her lover. Sapphire finally sighed and smiled up at him. "All right," she said to him, "but that was a warning. Next time I hear something like that I'm never letting you sleep with me ever again." She kissed his lips and rests her forehead against his. "Do I make myself crystal clear?" She loved this man, she really did, but he got no where when she wasn't around. It was like that time in Japan. Uriel ended up insulting a guy instead of asking for a room. Yep, he was nothing without Sapphire.

Uriel smiled when she finally accepted his apology and smiled at him. Just a litting wooing. Although it was hard at times. Considering he needed to woo her once so that she'd save him from a pack of rabid lunatics that were about to pry him open with bullets. Good times, really. Uriel remembered that. Where he called her "Leskov" Instead of just calling her Sapphire or even "Moya". Just Leskov, sometimes even "Blondie" Ah yes the first few years of their partnership. However ,her threat caught him off guard.

Such madness and gore! Uriel's eyes widened. Never let him sleep with her? Oh the treacherous image! What the bloody hell were they supposed to do then, just sit around playing board games? Uriel was tortured with the thought as he spoke to her "Just send me to a Russian concentration camp. You know I can't live without you close to me" And it was true in the literal and the figurative manner he was trying to project. You see, (Although he wasn't going to say it out loud) He was like a lizard, he needs something beneath him or he can't digest his food. But at the same time the person beneath him would have to be someone he loved. Although he kind of started to suck it up and do it even with the people he doesn't like or love. Under the influence of Alcohol, of course. But right now Uriel smiled at Sapphire, his eyes still burning with passion and love for her. Uriel's lips longed for more as he linked lips with her once more and then pulled away before speaking "I think we have an agreement, then!" He nodded and pulled her close before whispering "I like sealing my deals with kisses. rather than handshakes.." And with that, he pulled her close and crashed lips with hers before pulling away as if nothing happened.

"Now, we need to discuss terms as to how we let Oce say yes to our plan....she's a feisty one I tell you."

Sapphire smiled when he crashed his lips against hers. It reminded her of that night in Moskow, only his kiss then was more gentle. But she didn't care how rough his kisses were, for she loved them all the same. When he said that it would be if he couldn't sleep with her, she smiled at that too. "Oh all right, but I'll punch you next time you do that." It didn't bother her that he was honest, but when he decides to be a bit too honest, that just signs him up for a shit ton of trouble.

"Well she is going to go along whether she likes it or ..." Sapphire cut off when she suddenly began to think of the name. "Wait, I remember that name ... Oceaniana ... she is from Spiritus yes? A cheerleader?" she asked him as she looked back up at him. Oceaniana, by her standards, was an all right woman. As long as she didn't try anything with her or mocked her country she was all good. "Yes, she's the pretty one who doesn't give a damn about anyone's opinion. A good attitude to have really." Sapphire gave him an approving smile as she pushed back some of her caramel blonde hair.

A scared look shot from Uriel's eyes. So that means they know of each other? Scary scary thought really. Specially of how they looked alike. Uriel raised his hand spoke "So you know of the chick, hm?" Uriel nodded, as if examining her before smiling again, His smile was actually a mask of fright. And he spoke "We should find her, I'm sure she'd want to meet you. I told you all about her, and she looks like you, y'know? She's out at cheer practice by around this time and is probably waiting for me at Spiritus"

Sapphire let out a soft laugh before kissing his lips. She had seen that shot of fright in his eyes, and it made her smile. It's a funny thing, but Sapphire kind of liked it when he looked scared, it made him more cute that way. "Oh don't be ridiculous. Most of the cheer squad hates me for ... ah ... being better looking I think? Or was it because I accidentally splashed them while they were relaxing by the pool ... can't say for sure really." Sapphire gave him a smirk that he knew well. It was that smirk she always had every time they were getting ready to kill ... only thankfully, Sapphire didn't kill anyone at that school, yet. "We should wait until after their cheer practice is over. Just in case the squad decides to play brave and use their powers against me." Truthfully, Sapphire really didn't want to hurt anyone at that school. Even though she hated some things about Spiritus, she still liked going there. So unless the day comes where she wants to be permanently expelled, she'll just take it low and not hurt anyone, unless it's within reason of course.

Sapphire looked at her watch. "Hmm ... it should be over in another hour. And since we're in between the schools, it won't take long to get there." she said to him as she put a hand on his cheek and just looked into his eyes for the longest moment. Man she missed him, she missed him so so much. Her lips met his for a moment and she pulled away and just hugged him. "I missed you so much Uriel ..." Sapphire whispered to him.

Well what she did say was true. She was better looking than most of the cheerleaders. Uriel won't lie. It was one of the reasons why he loved her so much. Although it isn't the big picture as to why he did. It was mostly cause she was kind of made to help him with his life. As if they were made of each other. Sure it was cheesy but that's what he felt. Uriel smiled at her. Devious smile. Reminded him of well....the Devil's smiles, He remembered a time when they were assigned to kill a rather wealthy couple. The woman was young and he needed to flirt with her while she needed to work on the man. It ended with him not talking to her for a week. Cause it involves her heavily flirting with the man while giving her a devilish smile. Sure she placed a bullet right between his eyes and he basically disemboweled the woman. But he didn't know the meaning of that devious smile at that times anyways.

Uriel crossed his arm when she spoke about them using their powers against her. And Uriel wanted to tell her that if they do try to do that, even lay a single finger on her, they'd be six feet under his boots. The thing is, Uriel protects her like she protects him. He was caught off guard however, with her kiss. He never got used to her kiss. It was always as if the first kiss they had. Uriel felt all warm inside when she kissed him. her hugs didn't make him feel anything less. He hugged her back and whispered "I love you Sapphie. I missed you so much..." He pulled her out of the corner where the people could see them and he smiled at her, pulling her close and kissing her forehead. "Maybe we should take an afternoon stroll. After all, I want to feel special when I'm with you. I'm sure konfetka won' t mind me being late for a few minutes.. " He leaned over and pecked her lips before speaking "You're still a half of the number one woman in my heart.

Sapphire smiled and kissed his nose before standing up. "You give this one a nickname as well?" she asked him with a raised eyebrow. "Hm, you better behave yourself around her then." Sapphire was, yes, a protective woman. Any chick even thinks of touching her man's junk is a dead woman in her eyes. It was a great thing he usually flirts with his victims. She does the same thing, truth be told. It's how she got into certain places that no other can normally get into without a pass of some sort. Her body was mostly her weapon, any other time it was her powers.

She stood up and smiled lightly. "That sounds like a good idea, love." she said as she held his hand. Sapphire felt a ring on his middle finger and looked down. It was his family crescent. She smiled wide. "You still have that ring on that I gave you for your birthday?" she asked him as she kissed his cheek. It was weird, really, for she still had that necklace that he gave her for Christmas. Sapphire touched the crescent outline of her family with her index finger.

The breeze of the winds was getting colder each second he spent with her. It was as if the scene at Moscow was replaying itself. He only wishes that the next events won't turn out the same. Armed vans chasing them and all that shit. Uriel didn't entertain the thought much as he basically cuddled with her in the crowded streets. Uriel protectively placed his right arm around her and puled her to the streets. His eyes stared at the people in front of him as they strutted through the streets. And he smiled at her question.

"Why yes, of course I still have it. It was only my reminder of you, aside from the picture you and I have. Remember that hun? You looked so pretty." Uriel sighed and dreamed about that moment. Quite adorable really. Considering the woman he had that memory with was wrapped around his arms.He smiled down at her and actually talked for the first time "You know, you're the only person that my dad actually likes. He said you are nothing like mom, which makes it all the better." He chuckled at the thought and turned to the skies "You know, sometimes I wonder what it's like not being bounded to kill.. Don't get me wrong, I love Mother Russia more than my own life but....what would it be like to be free of our creed, you know?" He turned to her and smiled, touching her cheek with his palm "So I won't worry about losing you again."

Sapphire thought about his question for the longest moment. What would happen? Would they be able to live as normal people? Or would they become criminals? Yearning for the chance to put bullet through someone's head. "I ... I have no idea what would happen then." she admitted to him finally after a long thought. It was true, she didn't know. All her life she only knew two things: reality and assassination. That's all she knew until that night in Moscow. Now she knows three things, the third thing being love.

She stuck close to Uriel as they walked, the dim light of evening shone through the clouds, making them look a rosy pink color. "Pink sky at night, sailors' delight," she began to recite, "pink sky in the morning, sailors take warning." Sapphire looked up at him and smiled some as she laid her head on his chest. She couldn't tell you hoe long they walked, not even how far they walked, but she could tell you about how she felt when he was holding her close to him. It was like she was flying without wings, or floating without anything holding her up. To her, this was the best feeling in the world, and she didn't want it to disappear.

He didn't want to let her go.

His hands still were tightly around her shoulders. He didn't feel conscious when he was with her. Only loved. And that's what he wanted to be, she was the perfect woman for him and he just felt that she was meant for him. A smile crept on his lips as she finally answered him. Uriel kissed her cheek and spoke "I'll support you in every way possible , love. I don't care if you're an assassin or not."

Their trek however, was shot to an end as he felt that they gone too far, with a raise of his brow, he kissed the top of her head and spoke. "Perhaps we should go to Oce? She might be a bit worried.." He asked while while pulling her to the direction of her school.

Alas, the walk could not last forever. When he said they had to go back, she just slowly nodded and stayed close to him as they walked back to the school. It was a shame they had to, though, for she was actually enjoying herself. Her in his arms, him there in her presence. But good things always must come to an end, even if it's for only a brief moment.

As they walked back to Spiritus, Sapphire began to think of her old partner, Hadvar. Uriel never liked him, and neither did she, but what would he say if she told him that Hadvar was her former comrade after him? She didn't really want to think about it, but she had to tell him sometime, right? A soft sigh left her lips as she looked up at Uriel with her green and blue eyes. "Uriel?" she finally asked him, "do you remember Hadvar?" 'Great way to start that conversation you tupitsa ...' she thought to herself with a long sigh as she waited for him to reply to her.

The feeling seemed to have changed when he felt her asking a rather random question. Uriel slowed down walking and raised ab row, showing a sign of amusement about whatever she's saying. Hadvar. he remembered him. Quite the target. If it wasn't for the agency, he would've put a bullet through his head a long time ago. But it seemed that his name made another appearance. His ears perked up and he spoke, with no remorse" What about that Svoloch? Did he try anything? Hurt you or even look at you the wrong way?" he asked and stared at her dead in the eyes.

"Don't lie to me, Sapphire."

That was the look she knew she would get. It was the same look he gave the men who stared at her, but now she knew what that look meant. It was the look of protection and a tad jealousy. Sapphire mentally gulped, and she sighed out softly. What if she told Uriel that he touched her while she was sleeping? He would go on a little hunting trip ... or maybe just put a bullet through his own head, taking it the wrong way. Another sigh escaped her and she looked back up at him. "Well, he was my former comrade after you left to study your powers." she admitted to him, though her voice went a little sour when she mentioned that. "He ..." Sapphire dared not say what he did to her, but she might as well tell him anyway. "The reason why he is not my comrade now, or an agent for that matter, is because he violated me in ways a woman does not want to be ..." Her hand touched his face and she kissed him on the cheek, hoping he won't leave her to find him.
