Gavin watched Uriel walk off, rolling his eyes. "Really, Mikhail? You're going to leave the bodies for clean-up?" Part of him wanted to paralyze him and watch him writhe, but he had some control and as to show that, he stalked off in the opposite direction after Aura. He'd caught up to her and was straightening his tie. "Don't walk so fast, Morgan. I know Mikhail's being a dick, but what else is new? If he wants to put on a show, he should just go into the entertainment business." He said it snidely, but knew that people would be throwing their money at him. Hell, Gavin might even throw him a dollar.
"Anyway, we need to talk. So slow down and stay a while," he said, catching her arm.

Aura shook her head while Gavin spoke to her, but did not slow down. "He basically ruined everything," she said over her shoulder. "He's bound to get detention; possible even suspension or a fine for the public violence he just did," she pointed out. She stopped when he grabbed her arm, and whirled to face him, crossing her arms over her chest. "Meanwhile he's left us hanging out to dry. It's a good thing I was at the punch bowl and you were trying to stop him. Neither of us will get booked for the stupid fight he caused. At least if you and he had thrown a few punches at each other, all you would have gotten was a detention or something. But those guys he hit are out cold! Is he insane?" she ranted. What the hell was up with Uriel tonight?
"I just don't want to be at the ball anymore. It's not like I'm going to dance," she said, unable to shake her annoyance away.

Keyla nodded. "Can't say I've been to many dances," she said with a shrug. "But it's interesting to know that this one is one of the craziest in a while." Perhaps it was because of the guest list and by that she meant this Uriel guy who was supposedly the supreme badass of Veritas. "Who's the other guy?" she asked him, wondering if he knew.
She knew she was asking way too many questions and that Byron could be annoyed with her already, but her personality often got the best of her. "Sorry," she managed to apologize. "I get caught up in things really easily." A faint blush crossed her face.
She turned back to where the fight had broken up and it seemed as if Uriel was walking away from it. Now was her chance. "Please don't hate me," she said to Byron before darting off towards the elder blonde boy. Her curiosity was like a thirst, it needed to be quenched. It was so hard to run in a dress, something that annoyed her to no end, but she reached him as he was stomping away. "Well, that was quite a display," she told him, a smirk on her face.

"You don't have to worry about these questions. They do not bother me," Rafi said with a slight laugh since Dakota seemed to get nervous that he might be offending Rafi in some way. "He had already been prepared for burial, and one cannot simply live with formaldehyde in their system," he explained. "He did come back for a second. He wanted to come back. I can usually just tell if they don't want to come back. They fight me. They fight my attempt to pull them back, at which point it isn't worth trying to bring them back, because they may only make it half way. Which is worse." He sipped at his drink. Rafael was very open. He hoped all this information wasn't too much for Dakota.
"Alright, you don't need to act like this is some life or death situation or some shit," Marley said, unable to take Everett seriously. His eyes pleaded with her. She didn't get why it was so important to him. And the way the other boy had bumped into him made her want to go into the crowd even less. She could only raise her eyebrow after that as if to say 'you really expect me to do this?'
"You need to give me a better reason than 'for the experience," Marley said. "Experience hasn't been kind to me. I'm not particularly a fan."

Skylar
"Quite a lot, actually. People like to use their power to try and fuck people up, and when they tried It with me, it didn't work so well. I remember in the beginning, before I got here, i couldn't figure out how I could possibly choose which type of power reversal I could use, but once i started learning, people never won in a fight against me." Skylar grinned triumphantly. As much of a badass bitch she was, people still knew her as the friendly person everyone loved. Except for tanner of course, because he was too fun to piss off. Oh and whiny freshmen who thought they were the shit. but everybody else? Friendly skylar.
She moved closer when he wrapped his arms around her waist. "How disgusting," she laughed "Being a lovesick couple even sounds disgusting. [/b]" Skylar looked around them, looking at the couples of all mixes huddled close and swaying. "I want to get to the fast pace music. I want to have fun. Screw the lovesick couples!" She announced. She was so antsy and filled with energy tonight. She needed to work it off somehow.
Adaryn
Adaryn didn't want to listen to anymore talk about her dead sister or her parents or any of that. It was putting her in another mood. She was glad when he finally stopped speaking of it, because that meant she didn't have to respond to it and the subject could close. And close is exactly what it did.
Adaryn wanted to fight and say no. She wanted to go back to the dorm and sleep, or watch a movie, or do something other than be in the presence of people, but all her thoughts seemed to slip away the moment he touched her hand. It was crazy how somebody could do that with just one touch. Finally she agreed with him and he smiled. "It is absolutely stupid," She said. But she wouldnt fight it. Because Monroe did deserve a good time, and if he wanted to take her to the dance... She blushed in mid thought. He wanted to take her to the dance... Her out of all people. Adaryn allowed him to drag her along. She still wasnt sure about his hand though, so she was still slightly tensed, but she didn't complain. She smiled softly as she listened to the clang of combat boots on the concrete floor.

He couldn't believe it. Sure he might get the worst detention ever, but it's not like he haven't gotten any worse punishments. Like getting sent to a concentration camp. Uriel rolled his eyes at the bickering near him before glaring around. He could feel someone approaching. A professor? A cop? he didn't care. Uriel however, was greeted by a small brat who he just wanted to break in half. He sneered at her, running a hand through his hair. He'd much rather be back at the dance than this. Plus, the guys were starting to get up. Uriel glared at the kid, tapping his foot, his eyes turning violet as he spoke.
"One, you shouldn't speak to strangers." he held up a finger. Pointing at her face before speaking once more, his voice a bit venomous "Second, wipe that smirk off your face. I don't want to break that smile . I don't want blood all over my suit." And Uriel crossed his arms, not interested with the child. Although, to just piss her off a little, Uriel opened his arm, sub-forming a small candy. Tossing it towards her, he spoke "Don't eat kids from other strangers, kid."
And with that. Uriel turned back to Gavin and Aura. okay. So what he did was stupid. But he couldn't stop himself...he didn't know why, it was probably because he wanted to be extravagant in everything he did. He wanted the spotlight on him. He wanted to be the star killer. He was a huge diva. Scratching his forearm, which was a gesture of contemplation.,. The assassin walked back, towards them, hooking his head down. He couldn't believe he was doing this. But he needed to swallow his pride. And when he reached them, Uriel spoke, a bit meekly.
"I'm only doing this cause I'm feeling generous..." Uriel turned towards them and sighed, finally speaking "I'm sorry. Okay? I t was just in my blood to do extravagant crimes. They're getting up though. So i guess I made your night a bit easier..." And Uriel pouted, looking down, shuffling his foot.

Tanner rolled his eyes. "Well, aren't you quite the badass, Sky." He was shaking his head at her. Sometimes she was a little much, but she was fiery and his go to friend that never failed to make him laugh, even if she was often making fun of him being British. Of course, she was only jealous. "Shut up and enjoy the slow dance. You are dancing with me, after all. And we all know how chiseled my body is." It was a joke and he did it because that's how things went with Skylar. It was their friendship. "The song isn't going to last forever, you know." She was so impatient, but so full of life. It made Tanner grin.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Of course he's going to get pointed out," Gavin said to Aura. It was obvious. "The guy is a self-centered dick at times. He's all about making everything extravagant and flashy. He might as well hire a guy to shine a spot light on him. And to answer your question, yes. He is very insane. Sometimes I don't think he even knows how insane he is. He should meet my father. He'd put him in place and it'd be a hell of a lot of fun to watch." He chuckled before looking at Aura seriously. "C'mon, don't let him ruin your night, Morgan. Fuck him." He waved a hand. "Of course not literally....speaking of...I haven't even asked for my payment for winning that bet. The least you could do is stay, have a dance with me. Because you're looking too hot in that dress to go back to your dorm." He waited for an answer, smirking at her, just as he saw Uriel stomping over, away from some young red head girl. He raised an eyebrow.
"Aura, be careful. I think Mikhail's possessed by a caring, thoughtful person. Think we should beat the imposter out of him?" It was a joke and Gavin was laughing at it. Still, it was shocking that he was apologizing. "But seriously, you're fucking crazy, Mikhail. We were just going to do a simple spiking the punch prank and you had to turn it into one of your crazy escapades." He sighed, at least some of the people were getting up. "You're a crazy motherfucker, you know that? But thanks for the apology. I'll be sure to use this against you in the future."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Keyla was interested in his reaction. He was nothing short of cunning and treated her like a kid. Sure, she might be kind of short and have an innocent appearance, but he acted exactly like she thought he would: arrogant and powerful. It was probably because a lot of people regarded him that way. It was annoying, although slightly amusing and as he continued to talk, she only kept smirking at him. Everyone could break, even this guy. He had a Russian accent, one she deemed attractive, as any girl would. He'd even went as far to make a joke about hurting her. Sure, maybe he was dangerous like Byron warned her, but he wondered why he was that way and what he was up to? What were he and his friends up to? She wondered this as he strode over to a black haired girl in a blood red dress and the guy from earlier.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dakota nodded. He was grateful that Rafi was willing to answer his questions, but he also didn't want to cross any lines. He felt like he had to be extra careful since everything with Talon. That and he was just cautious ever since he'd developed his powers over fire. "Wow," he mumbled. "Does it take energy out of you? Bringing people back to life, I mean." It sounded exhausting. That and how hard it would be to try and bring someone back to life who didn't want to return. "There seems to be a lot of limits on your power. Fire has a lot less." It was true.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"What if I don't have another reason other than I don't have anything else to do and I actually put some effort into looking nice so you should definitely just try and at least have some sort of a good time?" Everett said. Truthfully, he just wanted to see Marley in a place with a lot of people. She wanted to see how she would act and hopefully try to get her to have some fun. "How about because I'm an amazing dancer? Is that good enough? Because I'm running out of reasons very quickly here." He laughed. "You're here already, what's the point of leaving? Okay, I'm done. That's all I've got."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Monroe smiled as she agreed it was stupid, but she allowed herself to be pulled along anyway and didn't remove her hand from his, which was good enough for Monroe. Everything that had just happened sent his mind spinning in a whole new way. He'd wanted to get to know Adaryn, to be let in and she'd finally let him. He should be happy, but he was more so trying to figure out how to help her, how to be there for her, but he would enjoy his time right now, even if it was some stupid snow ball, because he could be with someone he cared about and there would be no daggers, no Cain and certainly no horrible nightmares.
He led her through the door and into the dance where the music was playing. He wondered where Ella was, but knew that it would be quite difficult to try to find her amongst everybody. He didn't remember the last time he'd been around this many people and squeezed Adaryn's hand as he led her to a spot where not as many people were around. A slow song was playing in the background and of course that was just Monroe's luck.
"Forgive me, I suck at this stuff," he told her, before his hand left hers, only for both of his hands to rest on her waist instead.

"Oh, and you're not self-centered?" she teased. He was the most arrogant person she knew, but she found it to be quite appealing when it came to Gavin's arrogance. Of course, she was biased; she had been crushing on him since her first year at Veritas when she saw him swim. When he mentioned their bet, she rolled her eyes. She should have known that was why he had followed her. She opened his mouth to give in and agree to go somewhere when Uriel showed up.
When Uriel approached, Aura stiffened. She glared sideways at him and sniffed, not ready to accept his apology. Jutting her chin out, she said, "You're full of it. Two seconds ago you were ready to rip Gavin's throat out because he tried to stop you from making the fight worse than it already was." She meant to stop there, but the words kept coming, and she continued to chew him out, turning to face him head on.
"All you needed to do was create a small enough distraction so that I could dump the alcohol into the damned punch! And what was the last thing I said to you? Don't make it obvious. And then what do you do? You turn around and punch the nearest person and turn the ball into a brawl, and then you call me out in front of everyone, which gets me involved. And Gavin. What the hell were you thinking, Uriel? The plan wasn't complicated enough for you, so you had to go and make it all about you? God, Uriel, someone needs to knock you off your pedestal. I'd be happy to try if you come outside with me," she threatened, a bit of the black mist of her power floating threateningly around the ground as a challenge. Her fists were clenched as she glared directly at him. No, she did not want to start a phsyical fight with him right there and then, but someone had to knock some sense into him. And she was not certain she bought his bullshit apology. He was laying it on thick; she would have been happier with an apology full of attitude as opposed to this one where he was attempting to look like a lost puppy. She was glad Gavin was on her side on this. They were always on the same wavelength, it seemed. Except in the fact that Gavin was accepting Uriel's apology, and Aura was having none of it. She needed a break away from the self-centered blonde. She would be fine once she cooled down.

Rafael shrugged, "It barely takes any energy at all, honestly. I feel as if I act more as a passageway. A spirit briefly enters my body and rushes into its own... its an odd sensation, but I never really lose energy in the process, no." Rafi kind of liked how interested the boy was in his power. He was so used to listening to others, he liked talking about himself for a change. Even though he was also curious about the new individual. "There may seem to be many limits, though having the power is not as complicated as what I imagine fire ... to be." Rafi paused, trying to remember the word manipulation, but deciding he probably wouldn't be able to pronounce it correctly.
Marley stared somewhat questioningly at Everett for a few moments as he smiled at her as if it were a way to convince her and lure her onto the dance floor. She wasn't sure how his looking nice made a difference. His hair still looked stupid too. And she definitely didn't want to be a part of anything. She knew that. She promised she would go to the dance. She didn't promise she would do anything more than that.
"Fine... I'll play along," Marley said after getting tired of the pleading look in Everetts eyes. "IF..." she said with a pause, knowing she was only going to deal with this if it had a condition that favored her. "Only if we can have my type of fun when we're done with whatever you would like to call...that" she gestured to some girls dancing up on some guys in a provocative manner. She surely wouldn't be doing that, but it was a perfect example of why these things made her uncomfortable .

His nose twitched a bit when Aura spoke. He didn't really swallow up his pride just to get insulted . Okay, so he was being an idiot. But what else was new? He just needed to be extravagant. And yes, he did it cause he was arrogant. but he could support it. Uriel shook his head while Aura spoke. He didn't want to just get in a brawl with her. Uriel could feel the dark smoke spinning and stirring. And he was going to be the better and bigger person. Uriel didn't make a move, he didn't flinch. He just stared at her, letting her end her rant. If he wanted to, he would've screamed back. But he didn't. He kept cool. He deserved a damn gold star for that! He didn't jump at her and slice her head off! Maybe in the next conversation he gets, He won't lose his temper.
"You're right. I shouldn't just bust in and just say sorry." Uriel nodded. Okay, this was too much of an embarasment for him. Uriel held his head up high again and stared Aura in the face. He could restrain himself. Plus, Uriel had other things to attend to. So Uriel backed down before speaking "Maybe I'll speak to you tomorrow. Or later." And Uriel turned around before stomping away. Ha, it wasn't so bad. Actually it was. It left a bitter stain on his mouth. He wasn't used to apologizing, but if that's what she wanted to do... Uriel glared at the punch bowl as people started drinking the contents. Soon enough the terrorism they made will take effect. And he had front row seats.

Byron had decided to finally catch up with Keyla. The first thing he thought he was going to see was a crying girl, but instead he just found her watching Uriel walk away with a smirk on her face. "All right," Byron demanded with a smirk on his face as well, "what did you do?" He crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow, surprised to see her still in one piece. is eyes caught the candy and he sighed. "I wouldn't eat that if I were you ..." Byron gave her a wider smirk and nodded to the piece of candy in her hand. "Only my ancestors know what he did to that before he gave it to you." That was a joke, obviously, but he was also starting to think Uriel actually did something to it, so there was a bit of caution in his tone as well. ooc: OK Syd. Which of your characters would like to meet one of my charries?

Skylar
She ran her hand down his chest and twirled her finger around his pant loop, pulling him closer. “Yes, an absolutely irresistible chiseled body.” Skylar winked, and slowly moving her hand back up to wrap around his neck. She loved the type of friendship they had acquired over the past three years. Really, it started when he had come as a freshman to veritas and began to swim. She remembered not giving him the time of day until she found out he was on the swim team. He wasn’t very defined in the muscle department when he was 14, which only made it natural for skye not to want to speak with him, but she did. They enthused about swimming, and their personalities just clicked immediately. And when he came back for his sophomore year, she was pleasantly surprised to see had his growth spurt and he acquired a swimmer’s physique. “But I remember when you were nothing but skin and bones, Tanner.” She grinned.
“Oh, and believe me. I know it won’t last for long. But I am itching to release some of the pent up energy. There wasn’t any practice this morning because coach felt deathly ill. And you know coach never misses a practice. Even when she had chicken pox, we still had practice. Half the team was out for the next two weeks or so after that. Luckily I never contracted it, but god that was bad.” She shivered at the thought of all of her friends breaking out into hives and scratching like crazy. That wasn’t a sight anybody should have had to witness. She gave an impatient sigh and placed her head on his chest.
Adaryn
Throughout the time he was leading her back to the Auditorium, she was having second thoughts. What if something happened and she had a wardrobe malfunction? Or maybe Adaryn didn’t know how to dance right, and Monroe laughed? She bit her lip softly, and she felt Monroe unknowingly reassure her with a squeeze. Her whole body erupted in a warm tingling feeling, and she practically jumped. God, she seriously needed to get used to the human male’s touch, because this was ridiculous.
When arriving to the Auditorium, he gave her another reassuring squeeze that said ‘It’s okay’. Adaryn looked up at him nervously, trying to figure out what he was going to do next. There were so many people around them, and he seemed to be just as uncomfortable as she was. But he started moving again, and even found a less populated spot. There was a slow song on. When he reached the spot where he wanted to stop, he looked down at her with a smile and apologized, his hands finding a spot on her waist. She jumped again, but again, she didn’t complain. She merely apologized herself. “Sorry,” Adaryn said shyly “Still not used to being… touched.” She realized she hadn’t done her part in this dance, and she bit her lip as she forced herself to do it. She wasn’t too short to wrap her arms around his neck loosely, and she sighed in relief when she finally did it. See Adaryn, She told herself, It wasn’t that hard. They began swaying to the music, and she looked up at him. “If I step on you, I apologize in advance… I wasn’t much for dancing as a kid.” She really hoped she didn’t, but it was possible. Adaryn felt it was only fair he was warned.

"I didn't do anything," Keyla told Byron with a shrug. She tossed the piece of candy he'd given her on the floor, not wanting it anyway. He called her a kid. She was not a kid! Maybe she was younger than him, but she wasn't some child. She was already fuming about it when Bryon came around, watching the blonde walk off. Maybe she should approach one of his friends. Perhaps they'd be easier to talk to. But that could wait. She'd find them around, but she'd realized she'd ran off from Byron and was sort of embarrassed about it. She smiled sheepishly at him. "Sorry," she offered, lamely. "I get carried away." Which was very true, but she couldn't help but follow her curiosity.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dakota shrugged. "It's not that having fire manipulation is complicated. I think I'm complicated." He laughed at his own joke. At least he knew how to make fun of himself, even if he did believe it. He wished he would have gotten some other power. A power that he could handle...or rather nothing at all. He could do without it. "I'm still not even close to managing it." But he was trying and that meant something, didn't it? "Well, your power is heroic, so that's awesome." He took another sip of his punch. Something about it tasted different, but he couldn't pinpoint what.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Marley was staring at him with a questioning look and all Everett could do was smile sheepishly and hope that she would stay. He didn't really have any other plan. He tried to refrain from doing a really dorky victory dance when she agreed to stay. "Deal," he said with a nod of his head, holding a hand out to shake on it. But then he realized that he'd probably shock her, so he slowly dropped it. "I don't want to know what your kind of fun entails, but I'll do it. Now just enjoy the madness that is lovesick teenagers."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Hey, let's not bring up that time. I was lanky, okay? Don't judge. If I do recall, you had a funny haircut, so how about we only talk about how great we both look now?" Tanner said, rolling his eyes at her as she pulled him closer. He didn't mean being this close to Skylar, but also knew that she was a flirt by nature and that it didn't mean anything. At least, he didn't think so. They just got a long, their personalities fit together. It was how things were. He let her rest her head on his chest as they swayed to the music and out of the corner of his eye, he saw his father in a clearing through a crowd of people, his gaze set upon them and his eyes darkened for a moment.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Monroe didn't need to be an empath to know how uneasy Adaryn felt, but he still tried to ease her as they made their way through the crowd to a clearing in the people and he put his arms around her, swaying awkwardly to the music. He wasn't entirely good at this. He thought he looked ridiculous. Monroe didn't sway. He didn't want to know how he looked, so instead he concentrated on Adaryn who looked nervous just as he was. She finally moved his arms up around his neck and he smiled softly down at her. "Don't worry about it. And I'd be more worried about me stepping on you. I'm the one with the combat boots." He looked down at their shoes. She was in flats, he was in boots. He liked the fact that she didn't go with heels, even if it didn't make her any taller. It was more Adaryn-like. He was a little disappointed that she flinched whenever he touched her, but he knew it was hard for her. That's why he was trying to go slowly and not scare her off.

Aura shook her head at Uriel's continued apology. "For once I'm considering Spiritus just to get away from this dickwad," she said to Gavin, jabbing a thumb at Uriel and not caring that she was talking about him as if he weren't there.
She began to consider Gavin's offer to dance. She wondered if he would be interested in her after he got what he wanted. She managed to calm her power down for now. She didn't need a detention, and she just wanted away from Uriel. Perhaps a dance with Gavin would remedy things. "Fine, whatever," she said, the black mist disappearing. "I do look good tonight. Might as well put the dress to use, like you said." She turned and smiled at Gavin, then walked past Uriel without looking at him, giving him the complete cold shoulder.

Skylar
"I did not have a funny hair cut! Pixie Bobs are awesome, and you can't tell me you and your stick figure self didn't want me when you were in ninth grade!" Tanner did not just go there! Ah well, she had so much more on him than he had on her. If he wanted to play the insult game, she would be happy to play. "I remember when I caught you trying to get a glimpse at me in the locker room, and then when I saw you, your face got so red!" It was an amusing sight. She didn't even bother covering her chest. She was wearing a bra anyway, and he had already seen her in a bikini at that time, so there wasn't anything to hide. "Honestly, I have no clue how you turned into such a stud. You were such a dork!" Skylar laughed, pulling away slightly and looking up at him with a triumphant smile.
Adaryn
Adaryn looked down at his shoes, and she stared at his combat boots. Sure, they weren't something that Eloise called 'dance acceptable', but they honestly weren't the ones who were into this whole scene. Adaryn liked the idea Monroe had before, just going to the dorms or the theatre and watching a movie, or just hang out and talk. The music, the dancing, and the partying were neither of their favorite things in the world. "I like your combat boots Monroe. They're you. And I'd probably think you had something wrong with you if you weren't wearing them." She looked back up at him and noticed he was smiling at her. She looked away nervously, her face going red.
"Why are you smiling at me?" She asked nervously, not sure as to whether or not she wanted to hear the answer.
