Good luck powers! That was interesting... she'd have to remember to never bet agsinst Andie. Oh well, she was leaving now anyway, but maybe she could get to know her later... all the girls on this school so far seemed pretty nice. Persy waved and said "see you" as Andie walked out of the room. "Well, I've been cooped up too long." She turned to Penny, "I take it you're new here too? Let's go explore the grounds! Kerry needs a walk, anyway, we've been in a car for half the day." She opened one of her suitcases, the one that actually contained some warm clothes, and pulled out a coat without opening it all the way. She could unpack everything into the trunk when she was alone.

"Sure!" Penny said, and ran over to get a coat. It was chilly outside, and it would be terrible to get sick already. 'I already have been here for a few months, but Persy doesn't need to know that.' She thought, but didn't say it out loud. It would be nice to get to know Persy, and show her around campus.
"Okay I'm ready to go!" Penny said, now zipping up her jacket. She scuttled by the door, and waited for Persy to get ready to go herself.

Persy followed Penny outside, breathing in the cool fall air. This was wonderful. Her old school had been in the warmer parts of America, and the autumns were just murky drizzles and weather that was neither warm nor cold. This chilly, crisp air reminded her of home, Germany, and if she held Kerry close, shut her eyes and breathed in, it was almost like she's never left... Persy blinked once and shook her head, seeing once again the school building and unfamiliar grounds. Kerry seemed to be in love with Penny, and the feeling appeared to be mutual. Maybe Persy could be nicer to people for a change, and people would like her as easily too. "So, what's interesting around here? You must know this place better than I do," Persy said, smiling. "Where to, madam tour guide?"

"Well, I've only been here a few months myself, but I'll see what I can show you." Penny said, trying to think of some good spots around campus. She walked slightly ahead, so she could lead the german transfer to cool places. "Well, Cranbrook isn't the most amazing town, but you can still make your own fun. "There's nothing really IN campus that no teacher hasn't shown you, so I'm going to take you into town." She explained, trying to keep a fast pace, so they could get into town before sun down. It was already late afternoon, and they only had a few hours left.

''Ooh, okay!" Persy replied, excited to get to know this new place. "They told me about the town a little on the drive here, but not that much, just the basics..." She thought back to the conversation. City of Cranbrook, British Columbia. Population of city proper 19,319. 31.95 square km, 926 metres above sea level. It seemed just like Spiritus, to give her the most dry statistical data one could find about a place, and then add a cheery "enjoy your stay!" at the end. Well, now she could see what the place was really about. "Oh, do we have to hurry to make it back before sundown? Do they really lock you out of the dorm if you're late? That seems so... harsh" she commented as she followed Penny toward the path at the south end of campus.

"Oh it's not that there's a rule or anything. I mean I think we have to be back by seven, but we have a few hours after that. It's just easier to walk around the town during the day light. It's just easier to see things in the light, and be better accustomed to where everything is." Penny explained. She didn't want to scare Persy, but she's also been hearing about disappearances lately. Perhaps Penny was being paranoid, but it was better to be safe then sorry.
"So what did they tell you?" She asked, leading Persy down the street, towards the downtown area.

Something about Penny's explanation sounded a little... strange. As if it wasn't the whole truth. Persy let it pass though, reminding herself not to judge people on first impression. Not everyone is out to get you, Persy. Just most people.[\i] "Oh, okay. But if we did get locked out I could get Kerry to open the window and then we could try to climb up and have me fail epically," she joked.
"Oh, just random meaningless facts. Population, average rainfall per month, zip code, percentages of religious groups, area, that kind of thing. The most worthless tour I've had yet. I mean, that's like getting someone a cat and saying 'this is a cat. It can't eat wood. Have fun taking care of it, you don't need to know anything else!'" She blinked in surprise when they suddenly reached a bunch of steps leading up from the lawn. "Why... is there a stairway? Isn't that just a forest path up ahead?" She shrugged and followed Penny up the steps, still a little confused. She realized that the steps were some sort of shortcut to get to the street without walking around in the forest. God, this school was confusing.
