Character Rules and Guidelines
Please read these rules before you begin roleplaying. Members who had not read the rules but create a character will not have their character accepted yet and will not be able to roleplay.
- Absolutely. No. God-modelling. If you are unaware of what that means, please google it. No perfect characters. No. No. No. No. Moving on.
- No Power-playing. No, this does not refer to hockey even though this RP is set in Canada. This means no making another character do what you want it to do if that character is not your own. This includes, but is not limited to: characters' reactions, characters dying, characters' replies.
- No 'perfect' powers. Your characters are in school for a reason. They are learning to perfeect their powers; none will have full control. No perfect powers also means no characters with instant killing powers or anything that will make going on missions too easy. Your characters will seldom go on solo missions, and that is for a reason. Just look to things like X-Men and Teen Titans -- they mission together because things go much more smoothly with multiple powers. Therefore, all powers will have flaws.
- That being said, only one 'strong' power per character. If your character has super strength they cannot also have the power to shape-shift. They can have a smaller power combined with a larger one such as super strength and telescopic sight, however.
- There is no character limit per person, but try not to overload yourself with too many characters.
- Your character profiles must be approved by an admin before you can start roleplaying. Once approved, they will be moved to the appropriate section by an admin and you will be allowed to RP that character.
- When creating your character, be sure to check the Face Claim and Power Claim lists. Only one celebrity face per character (with the except of twins). There will be no repeats, which is why the Face Claim board was created in the first place. In regards to unused characters, you will have to PM the admins if you would like to use one of those play-bys. Dead characters' play-bys are completely off-limits, however. If you are having trouble finding a play-by, other members would be glad to help.
- CLAIM YOUR CHARACTER’S PLAY-BY. Unclaimed celebrities are fair game while applications are still pending. This helps everyone when creating new characters so they do not have to sift through all of the character profiles to see if the celebrity they want is taken or not. If you do not claim the face, you will lose out.
- In addition to the previous rule, characters must have a play-by that is a known celebrity. This includes but is not limited to actors (tv, reality, movie, etc), musicians, models, etc. This means no anime/cartoon characters, drawings, or people you know in real life. Hard-to-find celebrities are iffy (this happens a lot with models), so try your best to find someone you can easily prove actually exists
- In regards to putting a play-by on hold, this is recommended if you are working on a character profile and do not want to lose out on a particular play-by. Please keep note that you can only reserve a celebrity face for 4 days maximum. After that, the face is fair game.
- When making your character, try to keep in mind how many characters we have in each school and of each gender. We don't want to have 20 characters in Spiritus and only 5 in Veritas, for example. Or 15 female characters and 2 males. Check the character caps to make sure
- Since this is an original roleplay, original characters only. This means no Katniss Everdeans or Ron Weasleys or Tobias Eatons or Bella Swans (please, no Bella Swans. Characters with depth = fantastic). Create your own characters out of your own imagination. Be creative. Be original.
- As with the general rules, please post below to prove you have read the rules above, but this time reply to this thread with your favourite number.
