Excuse me ( Augustus and Oce)

Augustus was hanging out in the common area after school was over. There were a few people in the room, but they weren't talking to him because they know that he gets mad easily. Most people don't stick around long enough to get to know him. If they did then maybe they would see that he is a kind person, then again he doesn't ever fully take down his wall so no one really knows who he is.

He had been hanging out there for about an hour when a girl walked in. He recognized her as a girl in his grade named Oceaniana. He has heard that she was a brat, so he has tried to avoid her, but now he had no choice because he had to walk past her to get out of the room. So he got up and walked toward the door. When he got to the door he saw that she was blocking the door. It frustrated him that she was in his way so he pushed her aside and mumbled excuse me.

It was not fair. Completely not fair. Oceaniana was getting punished by her godfather for missing the weekly family dinner, when the only reason she missed it was because she had had an extra cheer practice with her team. It wasn't her fault she was a dedicated cheerleader and had to help her team mates practice and get up to scratch for the up and coming competitions. It wasn't fair that her godfather was making her babysit the neighborhood brat on he Sunday coming up. How was she supposed to cope with that? The kid was a class A ass at only seven.
Oceaniana made her way from her last class to the common room. The corridors where packed, but the students parted like the red sea, making room for her to pass by them. News had flown around school fast that morning that Ocean was in a foul mood. As soon as she got into the common room she dug her iPhone out and began to text her cousin, seeking comfort from him. She was unintentionally blocking the door way for people to pass through, but nobody dared to point this out to her.
That is, until a guy came along and pushed her aside. She looked up from texting, shooting him a death glare. As soon as her blue eyes met his, she recognized Augustus Mathews. He was in some of her classes, and was also infamous around Spiritus for his anger. However, this did not put Ocean off. Her hand came out, pushing the exit door shut so he would not be able to get out. "Excuse me." her London accent cut across the air like a sharp knife, "Augustus, what is your problem? Cant you see that I am stood here?"

Augusts was about to walk through the door when all of a sudden it slammed shut. He looked and saw that Oceaniana. He thought to sarcastically to himself Great, I get the pleasure of talking to Oceaniana. Then he heard her go off, but it's not as bad as he thought. "Well first off there is no problem, I wanted to leave and you were standing in my way. I saw you there but I figured you were to full of yourself so I didn't bother talking to you. I decided that the only way to get out of here would be to push you out of the way, simple. If you would move then we wouldn't have this problem!" Augustus was starting to get mad. Why did she need to stop him? He was leaving because he had heard multiple rumors about her and he did not feel like dealing with someone like her today.

She smirked when he turned to look at her, ready for whatever lame excuse he would come back with. Ocean had heard all anbout what happened when Augustus got mad, but it did not phase her. She listened to his voice, letting his words sink in. "So what? That gives you the right to push me out of the way? Last time I checked I was a human being, and it is incredibly rude to push a fellow school pupil around with no good reason. In fact, I believe that is a form of a)aggressive behaviour and b)bullying. Your reason lacks justice. Wouldn't it of been simpler to just ask me politely to move out the way?" She pointed out, staring straight at him. To Oceaniana life was a stage, and she was not going to be outshone.

" Where does it say that I have no right to push you around? Show me this rule book. Also I would not call this a form of "bullying" or "aggressive behavior" I just pushed you out of my way. If you would pay attention to your surroundings then we wouldn't have this problem. Besides, I think that you blocking the door is rude. I mean who do you think you are. You aren't the Queen of London, I do not need to pick a special way to leave just because you are by the door. Just because you have lots of money doesn't mean your all that. I simply pushed you out of my way and you get mad. I guess the rumors about how terrible it is being around you are true. Also, I didn't ask you to move out of the way because I was trying to avoid you because I don't want to deal with a awful person like you. I know others are afraid to insult you but I'm not. Your are just an awful person who is full of them self." Augustus was starting to get mad. He is mad that he has to deal with the awful thing that is Oceaniana. If she would have simply ignored him then thigs would be fine but no she had to stop him.

"It's called the social norm. There's no rule book, you should just know what is expected of you."
"Blocking the door is rude? You know what I think is rude? The way you are talking to me. Who are you? You are nobody compared to me, do you know what I can do to you? Start showing some respect to your betters." She sneered, although finding his rant funny. That was the way Oceaniana was. She didn't want to be close to people, that is why she consistantly pushed them away. For as far as she was concerned, if she didn't let anyone get close to her again, she wouldn't have to go through losing another person. Wasn't it enough that she was the sole reason of her parents deaths? Pushing people away, being nasty and big headed was just her tools to make sure things where how she wanted them to be.
Ocean laughed. It was a carefree laugh. "Do you think I care what people think of me?" She asked. She did care, but she never showed it. Her walls were always up, protecting her from getting close to anyone other than her family and Mikayla "If I was you I wouldn't be bothered what people are thinking about Oceaniana, I would be bothered about the rumours going around about myself. What's that name floating around school for you?" She pretended to ponder for a few seconds, "Oh yes! Mr- Gets-so-pissed-off-at-people-chewing-gum." She laughed again, "How pathetic is it that you are know for that? Sure, maybe people hate me, but at least it's not just because of my attitude. I know the girls are jealous of me for my looks, my inheritance, my intelligence. So in answer to you question, yes I am the Queen of London, compared to what you are." She stepped closer to him, lowering her voice. "Go ahead big boy, insult me. What damage can a mere frenchie do to me?"

" Can you show me where this rule book is that says your above me? Just because your parents died and you collected the inheritance, which made you rich doesn't mean that you are above me. You think you are so great when in reality you're not. Your just some self centered person who things that the world revolves around them when in reality it doesn't!"

" Oh and actually I do think you care what others think about you. I can tell. I'm guessing you hate what other think about you, but you try to hid it. Oh and by the way, I don't care what other think or say about me." Augustus could see this because this is exactly how he felt. He put on a face and pretended not to care, and that he was this mean person when in reality he did care and he wasn't mean. He did it for the same reason as Oceaniana, so people wouldn't try to get close to him again.

Ocean laughed. "Oh god Augustus, can you say oh any more times? I think you should go down to the library and hired out a thesaurus, you are seriously in need of one." Ocean could feel tears watering in her eyes, and she hated herself for it. It was emotion she shouldn't of shown around people. It made her seem weak. She had mastered not showing her emotions long ago, but the mention of her dead parents hit her strongly. It was all her fault. "You are scum, you know that? That is what makes me better than you. I don't bring up raw memories for people."

" Correcting my literature? That's what people do when they realize they are wrong. What does the way I speak have anything to do with what we are talking about? Seriously, I mean why do you care? I'm guessing you aren't a straight A student and if you are I'm guessing you cheat!"

" Are you crying? Poor you!" Augustus said sarcastically. " How does that make me scum? How does that make you better then me? Just because I bought up your dead parents doesn't prove anything. Don't you ever stop to think, what would my parents think about how I'm acting right now? Don't you realize how bad you treat people? You just push people away, and I know why!" Augustus thought about these things everyday. He thought, what would my parents think if they saw me right now? He thinks why do I do this? But he knew why he did this. It was because he didn't want to be close to anyone. He was sick of getting hurt and so he figured that he pushed people away that he wouldn't get hurt. But in reality, he just felt worse about himself when he did that. He figured that Oceaniana pushed people away for a similar reason. He figured that since her parents died she didn't want to get close to anyone so that she wasn't hurt like that again.

Augustus better had watch himself. Ocean had the tendency to use her powers when she got upset, and she did not care for the school rules. If she got kicked out Spiritus her uncle would just pay for her to go to Veritas. No biggie. "Back off Augustus." Ocean blinked backed the tears. "You are scum, and everyone here knows it. Just accept it. I can accept that I am a bitch, and that makes me better than you for starters." She snorted, "Do you ever stop to think about how your parents would feel if they saw how you are being right now?" Ocean questioned, squaring up to him. She could feel the blood heating through her veins. This guy was pressing all her wrong buttons. "Tell me then, why? Why do I push people away?"

"Why should I back of Oce?" He asked with a smirk. "Oh and so what I'm scum? Do you really think I care anymore? I seriously hate it here, everyone is so rude and I'm sick of it. You probably don't mind it here though because your a spoiled brat that gets whatever they want from people, but I'm not gonna let that happen. I'm not gonna treat you like your the queen, I'm gonna treat you how you treat others, which is terribly."
"Yes I do" He said matter-of-factually.
"So you wanna know why you push people away? Its because your parents died and your scared to get close to anyone again because your afraid your gonna get hurt like that again. You figured that if you just push people away that you wont have that problem ever again."

Some part of Ocean, a part that wasn't hurting at the thought of her mother dying in childbirth or her fathers brains blown out onto the wall behind his desk in their mansion, was glad that Augustus was treating her like this. He had back bone, and she liked it. Maybe if she wasn't so angry at the mention of her dead parents she would of given him a pat on the back "Well I would join you in hating Spiritus. Do you really think this is what I want for myself? You think I got whateve you want? You don't get it. You don't know me, just like everyone else here, and yu don't understand me. If I could have whatever I wanted it would be to be living with my dad again. Screw money, screw designer bags and parties. But you wouldn't understand that would you? You hate me because of the money I have, and I could do without it." SHe shook her head, her light brown curls cascading down her shoulders. "Spiritus is a piece of rubbish."
She listened to him and tried her best to calm herself down. Oh! What she could make him do. "Oh look at you, aren't you the budding psychologist. Let's turn it around shall we? I think you have a lot of hatred inside you, but you keep it all pent up inside of you, afraid of what your dearest and nearest will think of you if you let them see you as something different. So you let it build inside of you, and then just like a volcano it gets to much, and you explode, letting you anger out on people that don't matter to you. But have you ever stopped to think what the other person may be going through?"

" You think i don't know that Spiritus is rubbish? Like I said I'm not going to treat you like royalty, because your not. I'm gonna give you the cold hard truth whether you like it our not. We are all forced to go here, but you seem to make the best of it. You see, we both express the fact that we don't like it here, but you seem to do so in a way so that you get treated like royalty. I give people the truth because I hate liars and fake people, like you. You get all the designer clothes and shoes and handbags so people think you are very high but I'm guessing you just put on this kind of act for people so no one gets to know the real you. You say you don't care about them and that you would rather have your father, but since that's not possible you fill the space that was once your parents." he felt like he and Oceaniana were very similar, and maybe could be friends, but right now that looks close to impossible."
" Oh, I don't have any anger pent up, I really just don't like anyone here, especially you. Its not just because of your money, its because of how fake you act and how you treat others. I could really careless about how much money you have, I just think its a big reason why you think you can treat others how you do."
"Also, so what if my parents care? It's not the end of the world. They will get over it!" He replied, almost yelling now. He really did care what his parents thought, but its not like he was gonna tell Oceaniana that.

Ocean raised her eyebrows, "You think you know everything, don't you?" She sneered. The blood through her veins rushed boiling hot, and she could feel herself shaking with rage as she tried to control the urge of her power taking over her body. "You know, no wonder that girl cheated on you with your best friend. Maybe I wouldn't act so fake is somebody took the chance to peel back my layers and tried to get to know the real me."

"Oh yeah? You don't care what they think? What about your little sister? Do you not care what she thinks. Or does she already think of you as a freak because of your power. Hmm?" She couldn't see anything properly now, her vision was blurred. It was uncontrollable. "If I was you I would just get lose, right now."

"Oh, I know I don't know everything. I'm not as self-centered as you! Oh, and you know what? I am over that! You know I can get over things! Unlike you!" He screamed, drawing attention from other people in the room. He really was still upset about he past girlfriend cheating but he was able to hide the fact that he was.
" You know, I don't care what she thinks! And for your information, she doesn't really care that I have a power! She could care less! And I am not going to just get lost because you bring up my past! I'm not backing down that easily!"
