Thank Mother Russia the pool was free, otherwise Sapphire would have to find some other way to enjoy her free Friday. Normally, she would have a mission involving a rich drug dealer in need of exterminating, but today, her boss told her that she had the weekend off. Her towel fell to the ground, revealing a full piece swim suit with the Spiritus colors and name on it. She had just joined the swim team, so she hadn't been in a competition yet.
The water was cool as she dipped her toes into the blue liquid. It was relaxing, really. The only time she was able to put her guard down was when she found Uriel, and that was it until now. No one here, cool water tickling her toes, there was nothing that was threatening her ... for now. Sapphire dived into the water and popped her head back up, gasping at the cold. She soon got used to it, however, and began to do laps for the hell of it. Even if she was doing this for fun, it never hurt to stay in shape.

Gavin walked into the swimming pool house, a towel slung over his shoulder. He was clad in his Spiritus swim uniform and had a smirk on his lips. At first glance, the pool seemed empty, but then his eyes narrowed when he saw a form of somebody swimming laps. A female. He recognized her, but only slightly. The girl was a bombshell and not to mention, she'd just joined the swim team and was Russian. He dropped his towel and walked to the edge of the pool, looking down at her and watching the strokes she made.
"Not bad, newbie," he told her, crossing his arms across his bare chest. "Good form."

Sapphire heard a male voice, a familiar one at that. It was the swim captain, and also a mudak by her standards. She swam up to the edge of the pool where he was and gave him a harsh look. "What do you want?" she asked him harshly. To her, she didn't see him as a worthy person to befriend. In her eyes, he wasn't loyal or even the least bit kind to his competition. At least she lets her victims speak before she quickly killed them.
When she heard him call her a 'newbie' she just scoffed and rolled her eyes. "You have a lot of nerve to call me that, even though I am probably better than you in this simple activity." she retorted with a smirk.

"What do I want? The captain of the swim team would like to swim. Of course, if that's not too much to ask the bitch of the pool," Gavin sneered. They were on the same team and like every other member, she managed to piss him off. Well, at least she was nice to look at. That somewhat made up for it. He knew that she was a good swimmer, probably the next best after him, but there was no way she was better than him. Gavin was the captain and he would be up until the day he graduated.
"A lot of nerve to say something so accurate? You are a newbie. You just joined. So by definition, that makes you a newbie, am I correct?" He poised himself before diving into the pool and resurfacing, his blonde hair less spiky than it had been before it was wet. "Better than me?" Right. "Reality check, Leskov. You're on my swim team."

ooc: It's Leskov. I still haven't corrected it yet. Ahahaha ....
Sapphire just rolled her eyes and dived down in the water, her legs going under last, and sped swam to the other side without popping up for air. "You do not know what I am capable of, Maddox." She said his name with a tone, such was her way whenever someone called her by her last name. Unless it was someone with higher skill, she hated being called by her surname. Hated it, so whenever someone of lower skill calls her by her surname, she does it back with an attitude. Sapphire wasn't afraid of this poor excuse of a captain, so she didn't care much for acting nicely.
ooc: Bahahaha, already she doesn't like him XD XD

"Perhaps I do not. Maybe I'd like to find out," Gabe retorted, slightly suggestively. He grinned to himself as he treaded water. "But you are on my team here at Spiritus. That's what happens when you leave Russia. You're in Canada now. And as far as I'm concerned, your ridiculously attractive accent means nothing."
She was rude and conniving and had such an attitude that Gavin wouldn't have pictured her on the swim team. She was definitely fiery. "What brings you to Spiritus anyway?"

"Just like everyone else, I was forced to come here," Sapphire replied, but of course that wasn't entirely true. The agency found out about her unique gift and wanted to send her to Veritas, but Spiritus got to them before Veritas and she ended up having to go to this hellhole of a place. "Let me guess about you, you were forced to come here as well after your parents or guardian found out you had powers, and Spiritus got through before Veritas did. am I close enough?" That's what most of the students say when they first arrive here, but not even half of them knew about Veritas before they came here anyway.
Sapphire pushed back her wet blonde hair as her green and blue eyes met his. She could probably get along with him if he wasn't such an ass, but, of course, that didn't stop her from being on the Spiritus swim team. Sapphire finally let out a soft sigh and sank into the pool's cool liquid. "So," she began, "what if your power? I am actually curious to know what it is."

"Actually," Gavin began, with a hint of annoyance in his voice. "You are no where near correct. I practically chose to come here. And why the hell would I go to Veritas? Spiritus is obviously the better choice. I may not need a whole lot of practice in perfecting my power, but if I'm going to, it's going to be here." He thought of his father, of the ruthless man who had raised him and his sister. He wondered where she was...if she was still with his mother. He shook away the thoughts. "The point is I was raised by a man with immense power and I wasn't about to waste mine."
He smirked. "My power? I'd show you, but I'm not so sure it's nice to paralyze a girl."

"Hmm, not what you hear in this school most days," Sapphire commented, "most of them whine and go on about how this school is to strict or this school doesn't let you do things Veritas allows, and so on." To her, it was rather annoying. Everyday it's the same. 'I wish I was at Veritas' or, 'I wish Spiritus wasn't so strict'. In her eyes, this place was just another school, and if you followed the rules (well most of the time) you don't have to worry about the teachers chewing you out. Besides, the power classes here are much better than at Veritas, or so she heard.
"Hmm, paralyzing doesn't count," she began, "but it wouldn't be wise to paralyze your teammate in water." Sapphire looked at him with her green and blue eyes, as if to study him. "How much power can you control with this paralyses, hmm?" This power had peaked her interests some. Sure, people can control fire or turn invisible, but paralyses gives you an advantage in battle, and if he could paralyze more than one person for a long period of time, well she might consider him useful in the days to come.
