At Spiritus Academy the students are forced to attend. Of course, you get students that were enthusiastic to attend anyway but there are also students that would rather be elsewhere. Spiritus Academy strives to provide a top class education for its pupils but at the same time hone their powers and teach them how to use them effectively for good. Spiritus Academy is a high school that caters for grades 9 - 12. Spiritus is known for being slightly stricter than ordinary schools but this is mostly down to the Headmaster, Mr Simon Pierce, 47, who will not tolerate pupils misbehaving. There are some tight restrictions on the school and some of the rules are may be harsh, but they are in the best interests of everyone that attends.
Lessons
At Spiritus it is mandatory for pupils to take lessons in English and Math until the end of Grade 12 (so until the end of high school.) Pupils must take lessons in all three sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) until the end of Grade 11, at which point they can choose to drop one of the sciences, but must continue to take the other two throughout Grade 12. Students at Spiritus are offered the opportunity to learn German, French, Spanish and also Italian. In Grade 9 students choose the languages they want to learn, and if they choose to learn only one language out of the four then they must continue lessons in that language until the end of Grade 12. However, if they take lessons in more than one language, then they can, if they want, drop one language at the end of Grade 11 and continue with the remainder in Grade 12. Geography and History are both mandatory lessons until the end of Grade 11 and at the end of Grade 11, students can drop one of the two if they so wish and continue the other in Grade 12.
Students take Latin for Grade 9 and 10 but then do not continue with the lesson.
Students also have the option to take one art class a year. They can choose to focus on either visual/photographic art, dramatic art, or musical art.
As well as the academic lessons, there are of course the lessons that focus on the skills and powers that each student has. These lessons focus on perfecting the powers of the students powerfully and teaching them how to control them effectively in all sorts of environments and situations that they may find themselves in. Students have these lessons every single day, and through the school year students are sent off to complete certain missions exciting, exciting!
List of teachers
Mathematics - Mr. Long, 50s Mr Long is not one of the strict teachers and he has a good sense of humor, so is able to have a joke now and then with the students. However, he wont tolerate excessive bad behavior and is not one to be trampled on or manipulated.
English/Dramatic Art - Mrs Deveraux, 30s Mrs Deveraux is a strict teacher and gets annoyed when people do not understand what she is teaching to them. She throws questions around the class and will not accept 'I don't know,' as an answer.
Biology - Mr Mitford, 40s He is an ordinary sort of teacher that is neither too strict but is still not one of the pupil's favorites. He is a bit of a scatterbrain and constantly forgets what he is meant to be teaching the class, which sometimes leads to people ridiculing him but he will soon shut them up and reclaim hold of the lesson.
Chemistry - Mr Field, 40s An exceptional teacher who knows all about his topic and can answer any questions that the students throw him about Chemistry. He is strict but is nicer to those who are enthusiastic and do well in his class.
Physics - Miss DeSilva, 20s - Mrs DeSilva has a very quiet voice and even when she tries to raise her voice, it is still barely above the normal volume that someone else has. She is timid and very young for a physics teacher but is well qualified. She is a fairly new teacher and does not know how to control a class properly yet.
Geography/History - Mrs Hut, early 30s. Friendly but she keeps strictly to the rules and makes sure her class do all the work. She is very short and is fairly plump.
Musical Art - Mr Farrow, 20s - Mr Farrow gets on brilliantly with the students and he is a very easy going person that believes that you can have good friendships with your pupils and still be a good teacher. He believes in active learning as well as sitting down and just listening to stuff, so in his lessons you are bound to do something interesting or fun.
German&Spanish - Mr Davids, 50s. Mr Davids is an exceptional linguist who speaks over ten different languages, and he is head of the languages at Spiritus. You tend to either hate him or love him.
French - Madame Dupont, 40s, is a native of France and she comes from Paris although part of her family comes from Quebec. She is very extravagant and lively, although she isnt a pushover.
Latin - Mr Cooke - 20s He is handsome, easygoing and quite a flirt with some of the girls sometimes. He lets students off the hook quite a bit if they don't do their homework and sometimes whole lessons can be spent gossiping and chatting instead of actually learning any Latin.
Italian/Visual Art - Florence Basile, 50s, a native of Florence, Italy. She is old and stingy and always has very, very bad breath. She has a passion for art, and as long as students try in her visual art class, she grades them well, stating that unlike learning languages, there are no mistakes in art.
Power Class - Randy Hawthorn, 32, an old Spiritus student who loves seeing the different powers everyone has and helping them learn to control them. His class is probably the most relaxed, and he prefers you refer to his as Randy and not as Mr. Hawthorn.

Some Information on Dormitories
Each dormitory at Spiritus is spacious and airy with big glass windows to bring in light and improve the room feeling. The dormitories are on the top levels of the school, so Students cannot open the windows and jump out unless they want to die. There is a dormitory for each grade, so there is a dormitory for grade 9 boys, grade 10 boys, grade 11 boys and grade 12 boys, and the same goes for the girls. The dormitories do not become crowded as they are large and Spiritus does not have a large student count. All beds are singles and there are no bunk beds. To the side of every bed there is a desk and chair and at the end of the bed there is a chest of drawers for students to keep their clothes and some belongings in. Each student is also provided with a safe to place their precious or expensive belongings in, to reduce the risk of theft.
Each dormitory has an adjoining bathroom that contains toilet, bath (and shower) and a sink. Students wash in these bathrooms. This is an addition to the general school toilets that obviously only contain toilets.
There are dormitory checks twice a week to make sure that dorms are being kept tidy and clean and that student are not letting the pigs take over and turn it into a pigsty xD They will also search for items such as alcohol and drugs which are prohibited.
Sports Teams
Swimming
The swimming team meets every Monday and Wednesday at the Swimming Pool at Spiritus. They are trained by Mr Brown, their coach, although he lets them have their own initiative and act like a proper team. He tends to take a background role besides from obviously, giving them advice and training. It is hard to get on the Swimming Team and the standard is fairly high. Try-outs are held at the beginning of every semester although sometimes when the team is full and no-one is leaving, then tryouts do not take place. The existing swimming team tryout the potential candidates and then make a decision as a team on whether to accept them into the team or not. Anyone with an unfair advantage (like superhuman speed or the ability to become a fish) is technically (xD) not allowed to tryout. There is no captain of the Swimming Team and every member is as important as the next, although leaders do usually emerge out of the group, as is natural.
The Swimming team at Spiritus is not the best as the team over at Veritas Academy has beaten them almost every year.....but they can only get better ^^ They do win some matches (although not against Veritas) and the team is verging on respectable.
Soccer Team
The Soccer Team meets every Friday, Monday and Wednesday on the Soccer Pitch at Spiritus but during busy, competitive times, they can train almost every day of the week. Practices are never canceled unless something drastically awful has happened. Even through thunderstorms, practice will still go on. The team uniform consists of dark blue shorts and a light blue soccer shirt that has the number and name of the player on the back. All players must wear black soccer boots. The team is trained by Mr Faris and no-one with an unfair advantage is allowed. Try-outs are supposed to be held at the beginning of every semester, but they have not been held the last few semesters as the team has been full and there has been no need for new members. The Spiritus soccer team is exceptionally strong and has won many, many championships against the team at Veritas Academy. Go Spiritus!
