Distinguishing Features» Eloise has an orange-ish discoloration on the back of her right shoulder that resembles a sun. She often hides it. It appears more strongly during the day than at night.
Clothes» Eloise wears jeans and converse all the time: whenever she gets the chance. She wants to look normal, and feel normal, so she dresses fairly simple. She doesn’t follow fashion or particularly care for expensive clothes. She is completely content with jeans, a tshirt, a hoodie, and her chucks.

Family History» Eloise was always very close to her father since he was the only family she had. As far as Eloise knew shortly after she was born her parents went through an ugly divorce. She would often ask about her mother, but her father danced his way around those questions with ease, often redirecting Ella’s thoughts to something else. She eventually stopped trying. Ella’s father has similar power to hers, but is obviously in much better control. He realizes though that Eloise’s powers are beyond his realm of knowledge (there’s something else about them he doesn’t understand) so he sends her to Veritas. They lived in a small house out in the middle of nowhere, which was heaven to Ella because there were no thoughts to be heard.

Personality» Eloise is generally quiet, until she hears something she doesn’t like. Under normal circumstances she won’t bother anyone. She enjoys quiet and solitude, especially since she doesn’t often acquire it. As a mind reader, Ella is bombarded by other’s thought through most of the day. Her father taught to build a sort of shield to the thoughts, but without a certain amount of concentration a million of thoughts that don’t belong in Ella’s head will enter. She wants to learn to control the thoughts she listens too so every day doesn’t end in a migraine. Until that happens though, Ella distances herself from as many people as possible to avoid the pain of a thousand voices.
But when aggravated, Ella snaps. She has a short fuse and often can’t control the things she lashes out about. She is very emotional and driven by passion. When she cares about something or someone, she would do anything to protect and help it. However it’s hard for Ella to create those kinds of relationships since she can read everybody inside and out whether she wants to or not. Despite her occasional aggression, Ella means well but has a sarcastic sense of humor and likes to see people smile. But she hates when she knows the smiles are fake.
Likes - quiet, nighttime, music and reading (which distract her from the thoughts trying to enter her head), bright colors, warm weather, writing (she gets a lot of ideas from other people’s thoughts)
Dislikes - most people, her birthmark, her powers, social sciences, dishonesty, knowing things she shouldn’t

Academics» Eloise does EXTREMELY well in school, but in reality probably isn’t all that smart. She can hear every last answer everybody is giving on a test or quiz, and its very hard for her to ignore those answers laid out in front of her. She hates herself for it, because it’s obviously cheating, but she cannot control it either. She does her best to take the test fairly and shut everybody else out, but it doesn’t always happen that way. Without her powers, she would probably be a pretty average student.
Powers» Eloise reads minds. Or rather, other people’s thoughts invade hers. She knows its possible for her to focus on one person enough to figure out which thought belongs to a particular person. Eloise has not ever really been able to control her power in any sense of the word. The best she can do is create a barrier to block out all people’s thoughts. Because she’s so focused on blocking her powers, she doesn’t have any idea of the true extent of her abilities and what kind of control she may actually be able to have on the conscious mind.
Discovery»Eloise had always known about her powers. She began hearing voices at a very young age and every day they would get louder and louder. Her dad finally explained what was going on, and that he could do it too, but he controlled it. He taught her to put up a barrier to keep all the voices out, but failed at teaching her to use it on a single person. When she went to public elementary and middle school she would often come home complaining of a headache and she would feel very bad about ‘cheating’ on tests. Her father only then recognized that he couldn’t teach her everything she needed to know about her powers and sent her to a special school.
Weakness/Vulnerability» Eloise’s biggest weakness is herself. She doesn’t want to open herself up to the possibilities her powers bring to her. She wishes it would go away. Her lack of desire to strengthen her powers and control them only makes it harder for her to actually learn how to. If she refuses to use her powers then there is no reason for her to be at the school in the first place. Also, using her powers gives her major headaches which also inhibits her ability to learn to control them. These migraines are often what causes her snappiness, irritability, and stress.
Strengths» Ella wants to help people. Her desire to help others outweighs many of her other desires. She is a genuinely kind person, though short tempered. Her writing is very strong and creative and she is very proud of it because it is the one thing she can truly call her own (even if she borrows thoughts sometimes. She is the one that puts the story together).

Friends» none yet. Ella is very bad at making friends, especially when she is offended by their thoughts about their first impression of her. Also, if they find out she can read minds they often try to stay away from her.
Enemies» none at the school yet. Though sometimes Ella becomes enemies with a person and they don’t even know it. She just doesn’t like the way they think or that they constantly lie.
Additional Information» Ella doesn’t like to tell people she can read minds, so instead she tells them that she can talk to animals. That way they don’t instantly dislike her and try to stay away in fear of their innermost secrets being heard.
