“How are you today, Daisy?” No reply. Summer sat with her hands resting on her notepad, and her legs crossed. “Daisy, I asked you a question?”
Evidently her subject was oblivious to the fact that, yet again, not talking was not going to help. Summer had been working as a Psychologist for a while and by now she was aware of the routine with Daisy, since they had been through it often enough. Daisy would come to the mandatory sessions every week, her body language would tell her that she didn’t want to be there, and Summer would tell her that she didn’t care what she wanted, she wasn’t well enough to make such important decisions by herself. “You have to talk sometime, Daisy.” Summer tried again, looking down at her wrist watch. It was ten to three, nearly time for her session with Talon. She sighed loudly, trying to keep the irritated look off her face. Summer really did love her job, but Diasy was a challenging case. Nothing that she would not be able to fix in time. “Leighton, I asked how you are this week?” Summer sighed. That was the fourth time in less than four minutes that she had used her name. She did care about all her patients, and even a one worded answer from Daisy would be something. That she was great? Fantastic? Getting better? Starving? Frustrated at the world and everyone around her? Summer just wanted to hear something. But like always, Daisy said nothing. Summer diverted her eyes to the paperwork cluttering the desk that separated them. She sighed and began frantically scribbling notes on a chart. Although Daisy had barely said five words to her during their eight week sessions, Summer had to always taking notes.
Their was a knock on the door, the sound cutting through the silence. "Come in," She replied and peeked up at her through the top of her thick reading glasses. She obsvered the time, it must be Talon at the door. And it was. He looked all worn out. Summer smiled. Apart from looking worn out his hair looked slightly different. L’Oreal permanent hair dye wasn’t hard to come by though. She thought she could spot wrinkles around his eyes, but that could of been from lack of sleep.
"Hello Talon."

Talon did not say anything when he walked into her office. He merely took his usual seat in the comfortable chair and slumped into it. He hated his sessions with Summer. She was all right, but he hated the whole therapy part. Largely because he did not want help, but that was the whole point of the therapy to begin with. He felt bad his parents had to pay for this when he was not helping to make it work, but they had never asked him if he even wanted to go into therapy. They had just decided for him, and even though Summer was a family friend, it was still a drag.
He looked over at Summer, his face gloomy, and folded his arms over his chest. "Well, I'm here," he said grumpily. "So you can check me off on your list of patients." Knowing Summer was not at his school and he was not her only patient gave Talon mixed feelings. He was glad he was not her only focus, but he wished she did not have to work at the school to keep an eye on him. His meetings were weekly ever since his attempted suicide, and the progress was little. He missed his monthly meetings. Those he could handle. This he could not. "Let's just get this hour over with. I have things to do," he added. Yes. Things. Like sleep.
He felt bad for giving her so much attitude, but it was the room that did it. If they were talking as friends outside of the office, he would feel a little better. But he was her patient. They could not be chummy. She was there to help him. And he had made it clear that he did not want to be helped.

Summer smiled sadly at Talon. She had an inkling that this would happen. Being inside an office to talk about his problems was not something Talon was open too. He didn't think he wanted help. But Summer would help him, even if she had to dupe him into help. She placed her clipboard of papers neatly on the table and pushed her swivel chair out. "How about we get out of this room? I can't be arsed with sitting inside anymore." Talon had a special place in Summer's heart. She had known him for a long while, and was close to his family. She wasn't supposed to have favorites in her line of work, but she did. In a kind of way she saw Talon as a younger brother, and she did not mind breaking rules for him. Especially if it would do him some good and make him talk. "How about I drive us down to town and we'll get a burger or something? I need to go and buy some more cigs anyway."

(ooc: So this will have to take place before the ball, since Talon dies at the ball. Perhaps a week or so after he tried killing himself?)
Talon raised his eyebrows in surprise at Summer. Really? She wanted to cancel the meeting and just leave and do something else? Well that was certainly something that he was open to.
"Well all right," he agreed. "But only if you're paying." He had no money on him, and he didn't feel like going to his dorm to get his wallet just for a burger. He stood as well, glad to be out of the chair, even if it was comfortable - it's only redeemable quality in his mind. He was glad she smoked, too, because at least then she did not harass him to quit. People who did that were insanely annoying. Though he did wish she would quit. She was too beautiful to be smoking and damaging her lungs. He was a hypocrite in that way. His sister had died of second-hand smoke, and so he hated when other people smoked. But when he did, he did not like it when people looked down at him.

(OCC:// TALON DIES?!? Ok, before the snow ball.)
Summer noticed his raised eyebrows and shrugged, "Let's be honest, this room is too stuffy and how likes to be in a room and being questioned anyway? Most of the questions are a load of bull Talon." She said softly, "Like: If you have a magic wand you could wave over your life what would be different?" She scoffed. She really did hate asking that question.
Summer opened one of her desk draws and pulled out the keys to her blue mazda RX8 and her purse. Her salary was decent, she never had to worry about paying her bills and she always had a bit of spare cash left over for pleasure spending. "Deal, but only if you order the biggest, greasiest burger about. You look like you could do with some energy." She pointed out, shutting the draw and walking towards the door. She never locked her desk. Maybe it was a stupid thing, but she was the kind of person to trust openly until crossed. And she hadn't been crossed yet.
She opened the door and held it for him.

(ooc: Yes, but not for long. No worries! haha)
Talon glanced around her office. It was not the worst of the teacher offices (and Talon had been in quite a few of those). In fact, Summer's was one of the nicest. But it was what her office represented that he did not like. Summer was acting different, or perhaps Talon just always assumed the worst in her and was surprised at each meeting, but this was definitely the first time she had suggested an out-of-office session. Was this even a session? Talon had no idea.
"Um. Okay," he said as his way of a promise. "I prefer my meat closest to raw as they'll serve it, so it will be more greasy than bloody," he reminded her. One side-effect of his bird shapeshifting power was that he very much enjoyed the food of birds. Raw fish and small rodents being his favourite, as they satisfied the predator birds in him, and berries and other small fruits and nuts that satisfied the smaller birds in him. Usually, however, the fast food joints around town refused to serve raw meat, plus most of it was frozen anyway, so he had to get most of his meat cooked. For Talon, cooked meat was fine, but it certainly wasn't preferable.
He walked through the door when she held it open for him, slouching in thanks, and then waited for her to lock her office. "So is this some sort of way of making me warm up to you?" he asked bluntly. "Because I don't mind it. It's just weird, that's all."
