It was a quiet evening at Veritas Academy. The moon was out, the stars were shining brightly. It was a perfect night to do a little ... 'hunting'. Climbing out of a dorm window was Selene in her full vampire form, and she was hungry. Her crimson eyes darted this way and that before jumping off the wall and running into the forest, jumping into trees and onto branches in search of easy prey. Normally, this wouldn't happen, but tonight her vials had run out and her uncle had forgotten to give her some more. So now, may it be human or animal, she will hunt it down and feed off of it.
As she darted, she smelled a fresh scent of ... human. A smile crept onto her face as she sped towards the sweet familiar scent. There it was, pretty and possibly vulnerable. Even though her human mind told her to stop, her vampiric form watched as the female figure moved along the path between the two schools. However, there were many other sounds that had heartbeats, and her eyes darted again towards the sounds. Finally, she chose a nice fat bunny that was hopping across the path. In a flash, she grabbed the bunny and rolled into the forest and sank her large canines into the soft bunny's flesh.
ooc: Her mind in her vampiric state is ... rather haywire.

While her humanity still tried to reject her powers, her powers had basically taken over Aura's existence. She was embracing them fully, in short. The only time when she ever doubted what she was doing with her powers came when her mind settled, which was only when she tried to sleep. Most nights she was able to ignore her conscience, but tonight her mind was being annoyingly loud, and so Aura decided to punish it by not allowing herself any rest at all.
She walked along the grounds of Veritas until she reached the forest, deciding to take a midnight stroll through the woods. They used to scare her, but now that she had embraced her powers, she doubted there was anything out there more scary than she. She doubted ever more that there was anything out there she could not handle simply by using the strength and physical weapons her powers gave her.
As her feet crunched some dead leaves on the hard ground, she saw a quick movement to her left. Aura turned quickly, only to raise her eyebrows in surprise to see her fellow swim team member pounce on a rabbit, bite into its flesh, and then disappear into the trees.
"Well that's... different," she said, stopping where she was and trying to peer through the trees to see where Selene had gone. At least, she was pretty sure it was Selene from the quick glimpse she had gotten of her. What was her teammate's power again? Aura could not seem to remember; she used to be so worried about her own powers that she never paid attention to anyone else's, and she always sat out in her Powers Class, so she never got to work with anyone's powers, either. "Selene?" she called out, her voice curious. She had no idea her teammate ate live animals.

At least she didn't hurt the human, whoever that might'v been. She was so close though, just one slip and that person's life would've been over before they realized it. With a soft sigh of relief, her hunger was sated for now and she climbed back up in the tree, wanting to just climb around now. As she walked on the branches from tree to tree, a familiar voice called out her name. Her glowing red eyes darted towards the sound, and then she jumped from one branch to another until she spotted the girl who was calling. Selene recognized this woman in two ways. It was Aura, the girl on the same swim team, and the girl she almost killed.
"You called?" Selene asked with a wicked smirk on her face. "Sorry if I ... scared you." Her voice wasn't ... normal. Normally you'd only hear one voice from her (or anyone for that matter), but in this form her voice sounded both hers and demonic. The red glow of her eyes stared down at the specimen below her, debating on whether she liked her or not. She hadn't really got to know anyone in the past few years besides Lucas, but he was an exception in her books.

Aura looked up and around when she heard the sound of tree branches rustling and creaking under something or someone's weight. She assumed it was Selene, of course, and so was unsurprised when the girl finally came into view from a tree branch nearby.
"Don't fall from there or our captain will kill you," she said with a smirk, then stepped closer. Upon closesr inspection and the glow from the moonlight, Aura saw that her teammate did not look as she usually did. Her eyes, for once, were red instead of their usual brown. Her voice was husky and demonic, a voice Aura was very familiar with, except in the fact that she, too, spoke that way when using her power. Her voice was slightly less harsh, as she was able to control it and it wasn't needed to scare anyone; her demonic appearance did that. Was Selene some type of demonic physiologist like Aura? "We can't beat Spiritus again if we lose a teammate because of a broken leg," she added. She raised her eyebrows at Selene's appearance, impressed. "Don't worry. I don't scare easily anymore," she said as her mind tried to remember what her teammate's power was. "Nice powers, by the way. I've never seen them in action." She tilted her head at Selene. "What are they again?"

Selene snickered and leaned up against the tree. "I don't break easily," Selene retorted as she smirked wide to her. It was amusing when people told her to be careful, almost like they actually cared. Right. Selene jumped down from the tree and looked into her eyes with her glowing red ones. "There, now our captain won't cry like a bitch." Yes, her vampiric form was more cocky than what her real form is, but sadly Selene could not control that.
"Well," she began walking to her as her eyes dimmed back to her usual brown and her fangs retracted back into her gums. "You saw how I attacked that big fat rabbit, yes?" She stuck her fingers in the hoodie she was wearing, thankful that she didn't get cold easily. "Basically, it's like yours, only instead of demonic powers I have vampiric powers." Selene thought for a moment, then looked back at Aura. "At least I'm not the only pawn of Satan, huh?"

Aura's eyebrows lifted higher and her eyes flashes with annoyance at the tone Selene was taking with her. She had never heard her teammate speak like this, but then again, Aura was no longer the sweet girl she used to be back when she rejected her powers. She let it slide this time. Her expression relaxed.
"Vampiric physiology, eh?" she said, visibly impressed. "That's pretty awesome. So do you actually need the blood or is that just something you choose to do?" she wondered. Aura, for example, did not have to use her powers to 'evil', as some might put it. But that was what she enjoyed best. She did not recall adveritising her powers to her swim mates, but she must have mentioned it at some point when they all met for the first time. She must have blocked that memory and their reactions out, her past self choosing not to remember her teammate's horrified reactions at her abominable power. Well, not she thought the power to be less abominable and more... awesome. "Guess not, though I'm no pawn of anything," she said. "Spawn, perhaps. He certainly passed his so-called evil into me when I was born. Parents tried to exorcise it out of me, but when that didn't work, they kicked me out," she said casually, but her voice was laced with spite when she spoke of her parents. She detested them. She never used to talk about her parents, but somehow knowing Selene had similar dark ones made the idea of talking about her past no issue. She wondered if Selene's family embraced her powers, or if they rejected her just like Aura's did.

Selene let out a laugh and smirked. "I know what you mean," she replied softly, "was yours a real exorcist?" She asked this question because hers was not a real exorcist. It was just some damn priest who thought he knew what he was doing. Sad, really, but that's what you get when you mix priest with over obsession with the Lord. "Wow, you know I never realized how so much we are alike. Received exorcisms, got kicked out, have kick ass hell powers, and like to swim." Selene thought for another moment, "swimming is the only normal thing we have in common though."
"Do you live with anyone else or just here?" Selene asked, not to be pushy or anything like that. It was there in her tone. Besides, she wouldn't want to be pushed by anyone to talk about her past life, so Aura could answer her or not. It was her choice.

Aura raised an eyebrow. "I don't believe in a 'real exorcist'," she said with a roll of her eyes. "All that religious stuff is crap. They thought I was some sort of devil's child, and maybe I am. I mean, I do have these powers. But the priests they brought in to try to magically pull this evil out of me or whatever did nothing except make me feel like crap. I don't believe in that shit," she said with a shrug. "It's bull."
She nodded as her teammate began listing off their similarities. "What, having freakish powers isn't normal?" she joked. "Around here that seems pretty normal to me. What is normal, anyway? I don't believe normality exists, either. It's just a label people give to make them feel special or whatever. People are fucked.
"And I live at the school. Once I graduate I'll have no where, but I'll worry about that when it comes to it," she said. she did not see the point in having a plan for her future just yet. She was over a year away from graduation; she had plenty of time to think about a place to live. And, hell, she was sure she could find somewhere. With the amount of money she earned from Uriel, she had enough to save up for a place, anyway. "You?" she asked, with a nod at Selene. "Where do you live?"

Selene let out a snicker. "Exorcists ... they're just another word for Wicca users ... only they believe their magic comes from God." she said rolling her eyes. "Mine hit me with the cross, as if he was hitting this so called 'demon vampire', or so they'd have my parents believe." Selene leaned up on the tree and got a good look at Aura. The first time she had seen her, she thought she was just another one of those 'goody-two-shoes' type of girl. But now that she was getting a good look at her personality, she wasn't all good at all. She could almost smell it, almost.
"I guess so," Selene agreed smirking some. "Normality doesn't exist in between these two schools. It is only a word with no meaning here." This was true. Nobody here was ever going to be 'normal', whatever normal was to them.
"I live with my aunt and uncle," Selene replied to her coolly. "My uncle took me in after my parents decided to kick me out because of my power." Even mentioning her parents almost made her hiss. "Though they do come up for Christmas, though I have no fucking idea why. They say it's in the bible, that if they don't visit family they sin." She shook her head. "I say it's just rubbish they're spitting out of those holy mouths of their's.

"Exactly. So the word either does not exist or we are the normal ones. That's scary to think about," she said with a smirk. "Us, normal." She shook her head and leaned her back against the trunk of a tree. Her red leather jacket protecting her skin from the roughness of the bark, but not from the coldness of the night. The air was crisp and the sky threatened snow, and she would be freezing if not for the protection of the trees against the wind. Still, her arms were cold, but the jacket warmed her enough that she did not shiver.
"That's nice of them, to take you in. I never bothered looking for any other family. They all seemed to agree with my parents that I was made of pure evil, and I prefer living on my own, anyway. Well, in the school." She was lucky; Veritas was able to give her a scholarship of sorts. She could live there until she was finished her schooling. Her powers were too dangerous to leave alone, so there was really no choice for the school but to allow her to attend the school for free. As long as she kept her grades up and participated in school activities, everything was fine. And since she was an active member of the swim team, the school did not suspect she had allowed her powers to control her.
"I never read the bible. I think I might have started when I was younger, before my powers revealed themselves," she told her fellow teammate. "But I don't remember any of it. I did burn a copy or two. Sometimes I found myself wondering if that would send me straight to hell, but I guess that's where I'd belong if such a fine place existed." She laughed.

"Well, my father and grandparents have the same power, so they were already convinced that I wasn't wholly evil, as they are not evil either." Selene stated as the cool wind brushed through her almost black hair. "They took me in because, unlike my parents, they thought I wasn't a possession or ... whatever they used to call me." Selene would never admit this, not to anyone, but in her mind they took her in because they felt pity over her. Maybe it wasn't true, but it was stuck in her mind non the less.
"You burned copies of the Bible? I freaking salute you my good woman!" She half joked to her with a laugh. "I wish I would've burning all the copies of the Bible that my parents had in their house, but if they found out they would've went religious crazy and beat the vampirism right out of me." Selene had to admit that even they took it way to seriously. More seriously than the church itself.
Selene brushed away some hair away from her golden brown eyes. "It's nice to know at least one person who is almost the same as me." she said with a smile. "Or I'm almost like you, in this case because a vampire is no where near as scary as a demon."

"Huh. Well that's lucky then. Your family couldn't cast you out completely," she said, trying to keep her voice casual. Secretly, she was jealous. She hated her family, sure, but not a day went by when she did not wish her family had just accepted her powers and not treated her like the devil's child. She was sure if they had not cast her out that night, they would have killed her. Drowned her in her sleep or something. She wondered what had stopped them from doing so. Perhaps fear.
"Well I hope our parents never meet. There's enough crazy in this world without them collaborating and bonding over their freakish children." Aura shook her head and tsked. At least she did not have to deal with them anymore. Ever again.
"Similar enough," she decided. "Vampiric, demonic... it's all bred from evil anyway, right?" she laughed. It used to bother her, that she had these powers. Now she couldn't imagine not them. "You know what I wish? That my stupid, obsessive parents didn't even walk on this earth anymore. I want revenge on them for what they did to me. They made me feel like shit, you know?"

"They would start a religious war on our asses if they met." Selene joked with a laugh. It was a funny thing to think about, but also a scary one. The funny part was people marching around in priest robes, but the scary part was what they could do as one. Scary thing to think about. "I don't think they'd win though. We're to powerful in our more ... sinful forms."
Selene nodded, understanding what her wish was. "I understand completely. My own uncle wants to kill my father actually. Sibling rivalry and all that. But I guess I have the same wishes. Though I think scaring my parents into not coming back for Christmas would be a good start in getting them out of my life ..." Selene didn't know why, but every Christmas they would come down and litter her brain with religious crap and other stupid shit like that. It was annoying.

"A war they would quickly lose," she said, though her mind was elsewhere. Aura's mind was reeling. She was not just saying she wanted her parents dead. She meant it. Truly, genuinely, honestly meant it. And now that she had said it aloud, she could not shake the thought.
"Scaring them isn't enough," she said, her voice laced with determination. "Why just scare them away when you can rid the world of their existence? They can be gone from everyone's lives. Permanently." Aura grinned. Oh, yes. She had found a new project: to kill her parents.

Selene thought for a moment, then smirked some. "Trickery is one of my specialties, but also removing unwanted ... pests." Oh yes, Selene had killed many people in the past, especially boys that wanted to get in her pants. It was so funny how people could never figure out that it was her who sunk her canines in the flesh of now dead people. Stupid, was what she thought. "I like scaring the shit out of my victims first. Kind of funny to watch them scream before you take their life."
"If you want, you can help me get rid of my parents. No one would miss them. They're way to crazy. One time I saw them chanting words from a bible to the neighbor because they thought he was one of Satan's minions. Pretty funny." A smirk formed on Selene's lips, flashing one of her canine. She wasn't in her vampiric form, but even in her more human form her canines were still larger than the average size.
