"Well, I'll try and turn on my charms just for him. Don't want daddy banning you from ever seeing me again. Well, actually, that might be fun. Forbidden friendship is always something I wanted to have." She shrugged after completely ignoring his other comment about the rapist. That wasn't a subject she needed to bring up. It was depressing and well, awkward. They didn't need any of that, did they? "And I think you should keep your hair dark. I mean, I'm blonde and most of my family is too, so I think it is cool that you have dark hair. I was actually seriously considering dying mine, too." Skylar reached up and tousled his hair, causing it to stick up in several different directions. She gave a soft giggle before ducking in the water to smooth out her own hair.

"As for the date to the dance thing," She started once she was back above water "I was actually a bit surprised. I mean, even if you didn't ask someone, then I was actually thinking someone would ask you. I mean most American or Canadian women are a sucker for an English accent." Skylar truly was surprised. Maybe he was asked out, but he rejected them? It sounded like Tanner, anyway. He always had a reason for doing the things he did, including making a decision on whoever he wanted to take to the dance. "I mean, I couldn't have been your only option, right?" Either way, she had no problem going with him. Tanner did know how to have a good time, and they were awesome friends. "Though, don't think I'm going to gasp and swoon at the fact that you asked me. I know why you asked. One, I am fucking gorgeous. And two, because you know I know how to have a good time." Skylar smirked, waiting for some sort of comeback from Tanner. He always had something.

Tanner shook his head at her. "As long as you don't do anything to majorly offend my father, I think we're in the clear." He noticed how she ignored his comment and took that as a victory. He was right after all. There was a difference between surprising somebody and being creepy. Tanner knew which side he was on, even if he sometimes did stand on the line.

"You should dye your hair," he said with a nod of approval. "I mean, not that I mind your blonde hair, but it's nice for a change every once in a while. Although my father would probably like it better to see that you were blonde. Of course then he'd make comments about me ruining my hair." He rolled his eyes as she went on about how someone had probably already ask him. "I had a few offers. And by that I mean a few girls shamelessly flirted with me, trying to send not so subtle hints in my direction that they wanted to go with me, but I already had someone in mind." At the time, that had been Adaryn and he hadn't known why, but Skylar would take it to mean her and that's what was important. He did want to go with her anyway.

"I'm not expecting you to gasp and swoon, but can you at least act excited? How come you aren't a sucker for my accent? You have to secretly love it." He smirked back at her. "And I know why you're accepting my offer. Because I am fucking gorgeous and I know how to have a good time. My accent could be a secondary factor, but that'd just be egotistical." It was all a joke, all in good fun, but he never missed a chance in fighting back against her.

"Well, unless your father outright calls me out on something, I think we will be okay. But I will try and hold my tongue and be polite if that happens." Skylar was friendly, but she hated when people were rude to her in any way. She wasn't the the type to take people's shit. She would probably be dead before that happened.

"I agree, but I honestly am not sure if I want to see what I look like with brown hair. I mean, I am already white as hell. Do I want to look even lighter?" Skylar shrugged casually, running her hand across the top of the water. She could see her reflection in the water so she decided to disturb it. She was still treading, and by that time, normal people would be tired, but she was a swimmer and could probably do this for another hour or two without feeling anything. She looked back up at Tanner when she heard him speak again. "Well that is nice. Glad to know that you had to have me as your date."

Skylar scoffed "Be excited? Never?" She said dramatically. " Naw, you are just fun to beat up and I want to make this other guy jealous." She said as seriously as she could manage, looking down at the water, trying not to laugh. "And your accent has no effect on me what-so-ever, so keep trying."
