Clothes» Kate prefers to dress very simply, opting for a plain shirt/tshirt and jeans when she can. She's been known to wear (equally plain) dresses now and again when the mood strikes her, but it doesn't often. She owns exactly three pairs of shoes; black, beat up old Chucks, black ballet flats, and a pair of white flip flops.

Family History» Kate used to be really close with Jessa, but since the discovery of Kate's powers almost five years ago, the two have drifted apart. Not out of dislike for each other, but just because Jessa feels that she can't 'relate' to Kate anymore. Besides that, Jessa is engaged and spends much of her time preparing for her wedding.
Issy and Kate were never very close to begin with, and that remains the same to this day. They do love each other, but they are just too different to get along for long periods of time. Issy is very extroverted and social, whereas Kate is perfectly content to keep to herself.
Liam is Kate's pride and joy, her little baby brother. She loves him more than anyone in the world, and would do anything for him. Her love for Liam causes a lot of issues with her mother, as she doesn't approve of her bringing her endless string of boyfriends home to Liam. Many of them aren't the most upstanding men and Kate doesn't feel that Liam is safe with them.

Personality» Kate is, overall, a genuinely nice girl. She hates to hold a grudge, won't judge anyone prematurely, and is always willing to help out if you just ask. That being said, she doesn't have very much patience for social situations. As hard as she tries, Kate just can't make herself partake in or even sit through a social situation that has no clear point. She can't talk for the hell of it, and often times won't respond when you talk to her. It's not because she isn't listening or because she is intentionally being rude, but that she can't see the point in talking when she has nothing of importance to say. Her favorite things to talk about have meaning, whether to her or someone she knows personally, or to the world at large. There are very few people she will make small talk with. Because of this, many people find her rude upon first meeting her.

Academics» Kate is excellent in history courses, above average in English, average in science, and "alright" in math and foreign language. She tries her best in everything but math-- she just can't make herself care about it --but something about foreign languages just doesn't click with her. Regardless, she maintains a B- average in her weaker subjects because she pushes herself and is determined to do well.
Powers» Kate can project her 'soul' so to speak from her body. When she's in this state, she can see auras and manipulate emotions, to an extent. She can also place thoughts in the heads of others, but so weakly that they know instantly that the thought was not their own. When her soul returns to her body (which appears dead and is extremely vulnerable during the time she was gone), she experiences extreme fatigue and a killer headache she can't shake.
Discovery» When she first discovered her powers, she was being verbally abused by her mother's old boyfriend. The intense emotions (fear, guilt, etc etc) caused by his words sent her into a panic attack and she blacked out. Seconds later, she realized she was standing on the other side of the room, watching her mother's (now ex) boyfriend shaking her seemingly lifeless body. Of course, she thought she was dead at first. But when she reached out for her body, she was sucked back inside it and woke up. For a long time she thought that it was just a dream or something that happened while she was out, until it began happening whenever her emotions spiked too high.

Kate could be considered emotionally volatile, in that when she feels something, she really feels it, with every ounce of her. It takes her a long time to fully recover from any emotion, experiencing highs and lows that would drive most people away-- if she were not so introverted to begin with.
She can be a bit sensitive to criticism of her personality/introverted-ness/family, and she'll keep those negative words in her heart for a long time, letting them weigh her down.
Extended periods of social activity exhaust and stress her out. She doesn't like talking for the sake of talking, and if she doesn't have anything meaningful to say, she prefers not to say anything at all. This is not so much of a weakness as it is a social disadvantage. Because Kate is not interested in being social for the sake of being social, she has very few close friends... though again, that's alright with her.
Strengths» Kate is very self-assured academically, which is often to her advantage as she never second-guesses herself or gets nervous answering an extra-credit question or something of the like. What she lacks in personal confidence, she makes up for academically.
Though she is, as stated before, an introvert, Kate is not at all shy. She has no problem talking to people, even strangers, when she has to-- she just prefers not to have to. She is actually a very good public speaker, as it is easy for her to speak if she has a purpose.
