Catherine Eleanor Abrams!
[/font][/center]Some basics...
Name» Catherine Eleanor Abrams
Nickname(s)» Cat, short for Catherine; Black Cat, for when she goes out on government missions for the school
Date of Birth» October 21, 1996
Place of Birth» South Carolina
Age» 16 going on 17
Grade» 11
School» Spiritus
Sports Team» Cat knows how to swim fast and kick balls (in all the ways you may interpret that), but it's not enough of a passion for her to put up with the grueling practice schedule for Spiritus. She wouldn't exactly enjoy accidentally swallowing chlorine or playing around with a muddy ball on a regular basis, you know.

Sexual Orientation» Girl, boy, scarred, different, younger, older, safe, dangerous- Cat's pretty free with her loving.
Hair Colour and Style» Her hair is cut short, a fluffy mess that most just want to mess up even more. Perhaps she'd be prettier with longer hair, but Cat has never been one for particulars like that.
Eye Colour» Her eyes are a dreamy cerulean shade.
Height» 5'7
Weight» 115 lbs.
Distinguishing Features»
- Well, she has a dolphin tattoo on the back of her left shoulder. She really likes dolphins, see...
- She runs her hands through her hair a lot.
- When she's in love with someone, she tends to run a finger over her lips as she thinks of that someone, in order to hide a giddy smile.
- Due to the huge collection of faulty fountain pens she got from her father as a child and her insistence to use them all, ink often gets notably smudged onto the skin of her fingers and wrists.
- When she isn't writing or something, she takes to wearing gloves, so people aren't as afraid to be touched by her. It's easy to get close to Cat, if you aren't afraid of her touch even without them...
Clothes» Cat is very relaxed as a person, and it shows in her clothing. When she's not in Spiritus uniform, she likes to wear comfortable cotton, plaid, and denim ensembles that drum her up as an easygoing character. If there's someone to impress, you'll know in that she'll wear something more obviously feminine. It may be as subtle as new earrings or lipstick or a tighter shirt, but to someone looking for all the right signs, it's as unmistakable as lightning.
[shadow=red,left,300]Let's talk about the 'F' word...[/shadow]
Mother» Biologically, her mother is Jade Cook née Harrison (died age 23). Her adoptive mother is Anna Abrams née Lee (40).
Father» Biologically, her father is Aaron Cook (died age 25). Her adoptive father is Quentin Abrams (41).
Siblings» Cat is the only child in her family.
Family History» Cat was born to Jade and Aaron Cook, choosing the 21st of October, 1996 to enter the world. They were a very beautiful family, but their time together did not last long. Barely a month after Cat's arrival, her parents got into a fatal car collision with a drunk driver, and Cat became an orphan. From South Carolina, she was sent to her parents' chosen guardians for her in Hong Kong: her parents' married best friends, Anna and Quentin Abrams.
Anna was barren, so it was as much a joy as it was a sorrow for them to receive Cat. They then resolved to give her the best life possible, in honor of the dead couple's wishes for their little girl. Cat was sent to a top-notch school and stayed with them until she was around ten years old, right about the time her powers started manifesting. To tell the truth, it was quite disturbing for Quentin and Anna to associate their lovely, vibrant little girl with her sudden violent, deadly powers. They feared what she could become. Nonetheless, they forced themselves to rally, and did their best to give her the most excellent care possible. They convinced her that Spiritus wasn't a bad idea at all when a man from there came to collect her, and continue to support her growth up to now. Despite the challenge of a long distance, they insist she write at least once a month to them, and them to her, and this is a practice of theirs that they've done for all the years she's attended Spiritus.
All in all, Cat's history with her family is strained- but it's still much better than most people can boast, in their situation.
[shadow=red,left,300]What makes you tick...[/shadow]
Personality» Cat is very light-hearted and funny. She's confident and energetic and she's the kind of smiler who lights up the room. She's very resilient and resourceful, in that she tackles most problems with determined positivity and imagination. A bit of a daredevil, she enjoys taking risks and playing games of luck fast and loose.
Around others, she can seem pretty careless. She doesn't take the time to explain herself to others; she just does whatever she thinks is a good idea at the time. Usually, her seemingly aimless decisions don't present a problem; she's incredibly clever and is great at thinking on her feet, so most of her choices are actually sound and smart. Still, there are times that they really are the absolute dumbest choices ever made, but Cat guiltily likes to think no one's paying enough attention to notice. Being more uninhibited than most people, she's often flirty and fun when engaged in conversation. She finds close-minded people frustrating, and has a guilty pleasure for introducing the dark side to every unsuspecting person who crosses her path.
Likes - Art, openness, freedom, leather, solving riddles, soft lips, dark literature, school, and of course, dolphins
Dislikes - Restrictions, regret, flowers, pollution, revenge, being predictable, dogs, heights, and of course, close-minded people

Academics» Cat does great in school, even though she doesn't really pay attention. She gets A+ in all of her classes... except, unfortunately, when it comes to Math. Cat is really, really bad at Math. It's the only class she tries really hard in, but despite her best tries, she keeps getting an average of low C's to solid D's. In fact, whenever she goes to Math class, she feels nostalgic, because things were so much easier when numbers stayed in Math- and letters stayed in English- and shapes stayed in Art... Ugh.
Powers» Cat has the power of Poison Manipulation. It means she can generate, direct, and absorb various lethal toxins with one mental command. It makes people wary of her, because her power is very, very dangerous when used incorrectly.
Discovery» It started out subtly, back when Cat was ten years old. If Cat was brooding, the nature around her would turn dull and yellow, from bright and green. And if Cat was made to hold a mixture during a science experiment, it would end up with weird, poisonous properties. And if Cat was swatting at a fly that refused to leave the room, it'd fall down dead before she could even hit it.
As she started growing more aware of it, it became more obvious. If she got mad at someone, they'd suddenly be too sick to go to school the next day. If she stared too long at the cafeteria food while in line, several students who ate at the cafeteria would later find themselves in the infirmary. Dogs that barked at her would suddenly disappear from the streets, and... Cat started to engage herself in social activities less and less, recognizing it for what it was without actually admitting anything to herself. It all came to a head, when a strange man from Spiritus came to the Abrams house and claimed to know why Quentin and Anna's daughter had suddenly become so reclusive. Looking back, Cat knows anyone could have figured it out if they knew what to look for. But nothing about discovering her power was particularly traumatic, because as Cat learned more about it, the easier it became for her to control it, and more importantly, hide it.
Weakness/Vulnerability»Her powers are absolutely useless against others with the power of Invulnerability, or if she doesn't know where her targets are, as she needs to 'aim' her powers at them. And let's not forget, people are afraid to be near her, because they don't want to just 'happen' to die slowly... Thankfully, Cat has admirable natural control over her powers, but the undeniable danger of her abilities and the occasional- tiny, really no-big-deal- mishap has still led to her social isolation. She eventually had to resort to wearing gloves in order to get to touch people, without them screaming bloody murder. Cat pretends it doesn't matter to her, but she's very lonely and hateful because of it. Her determination to seem fine has led to a certain rebellious, outrageous streak that unnerves people, which causes her social status to suffer even more. Did I yet mention that she's also just deplorable at Math? She's definitely more hardwired for the artistic subjects.
Strengths» Cat is very resourceful and quick-witted. If you're looking for a fast solution to a big problem, Cat is the best at grand escapes. And Lord knows she needs to be, for all the trouble she gets in! She hates getting into fights and constantly needs to flee... Cat also has a wide range of talents. She has an eloquent way with words, is musically-talented, makes beautiful drawings, and is a great actress. She knows exactly how to start and end a show. She has the great potential to make a difference in the world, but Cat, being who she is, lends her talents to recreation more than revolution. It's actually kind of funny, how as an artist she brings things to life, and as anything else she brings things to an end.
[shadow=red,left,300]And the lighter, fun, optional stuff...[/shadow]
Relationship Status» Cat has never had conventional relationships. She has an unfortunate penchant for being attracted to people she should specifically stay away from- and people who should stay away from her. One thing is clear, she has a thing for walking on the wilder side of love- and with Cat, the status is always It's Complicated. You're never completely unattached if you love like she does.
Friends» Cat's actually kind of a loner. She's fun and flirty, but she hasn't made any meaningful friendships at Spiritus, despite all the time she's spent there. It honestly doesn't really bother her; she just talks to whoever seems cool with her at the time and has fun while it lasts. Really, there aren't any hard feelings. At all. Nope... Nada... Zilch... shut up.
Enemies» Cat's kind of a freelancer, and if there's one thing the popular crowd hates, it's people you can't categorize into a single group. With her spirit, she's willful enough to infuriate those who think they're better than her and cantankerous enough to add fuel the fire. Cat, with her lax demeanor and reckless humor, eggs on a rivalry that could very well be for life with the popular kids of Spiritus. The No Bullying policy the academy preaches is absolutely worthless, and Cat knows this very, very well.
Additional Information»
- They call her the Black Cat, because like the symbol of superstition, they think she's unlucky to cross.
- Even I don't know what this girl has up her sleeve, so I guess we'll learn if there's anymore to discover together.
