"What are you doing?" Dakota's eyes widened as he shouted. Now this was blatantly out there, it was obvious that something incredibly weird was going on. Someone nearby would notice. Dakota finally realized what he was putting at risk. Exposure just to crack this guy's ego? It wasn't worth it.
Of course the blast of fire had gone over Corey's head. He took a deep breath and counter acted the icy wind with a blast of fire, but was unable to combat Corey sliding at him on his patch of ice. He panicked in the moment and without much thought, put all of his energy into a blast that set the grass on fire in front of him. It ignited immediately.

The fire near Dakota's feet caused some of Corey's ice to melt, making the structure somewhat unsafe. Not wanting to look like a total wuss, Corey jumped off the slide, and over Dakota's head. He snickered at the burning grass near Dakota's feet, and blew some ice at it. The ice, and the fire canceled each other out, making a luke-warm puddle.
"Looks like somebody can't control his powers." Corey snickered. What a shame his fire powers were going to such waste. Fire had so many possibilities, yet this idiot probably barely even used it.

Well, the grass fire stopped Corey from coming any closer. So, that was good, but there was also still a fire at his feet and Dakota backed away even though it couldn't hurt him. Corey put it out a moment later and Dakota stared down at the now puddle by his feet.
He let out a breath, glad that the grass wasn't still burning, hearing the laughter in Corey's voice. He was right. Dakota didn't know how to control his powers, or well....he was too afraid to even learn how. He felt so angry, so on edge. "Shut up," he said, a little too quickly.
