Evening Swim

"My point is, that you owe me my prize," Gavin told her, crossing his arms over his chest. "I beat you and I don't remember putting any rules in place that said there were do-overs if your power malfunctioned. Looks like I still have a spot on my wretched swim team and you get just as good of a prize as I do." He grinned at her, wading in the water. "I do suppose I could collect my prize later though. Perhaps after our next swim meet. My team may lose, but I'll have swam better than any of you Veritas. And then I can really feel like a winner." He'd waded closer to her as he spoke, eventually getting close to her ear and whispering the last part.

And then he'd turned away and swam towards the shore, picking up his swim trunks.

She clenched her jaw as she listened to him, hating that he was right. The race was won by him. Her powers had mucked it up for her and as much as that sucked, if his powers had somehow mucked it up for him (though she wasn't sure how that would work), she would be claiming victory for herself as well.
Though she was not a fan of how smug he looked, she did not argue. She would be lying to herself if she denied that she didn't want to sleep with him, but for a bet? What did that make her?

She watched as he waded out of the water, unable to resist staring at his naked backside as he walked towards his clothes. As he picked up his swim trunks, she let out a sigh and dropped her arms from her chest, leaning slightly to the side and wringing out her hair as best she could with her horns. She had no idea how long it would take her powers to calm down and go away.
