Talon just shrugged when Dakota laughed off the fact that he had sex appeal. Talon had seen him shirtless. The guy must be blind or something not to see what he had going for him. And the dude who had rejected him was even more blind. It was a shame, but it also worked in Talon's benefit. Especially when Dakota gave in and sat at the end of Talon's bed.
A cool autumn breeze blew in through the window, but Talon ignored it. Dakota was too close for him to pay attention to air. "Look, I know the best way to relax. To release the tension, as you said." He edged over to Dakota and took a last drag of his cigarette, exhaling it in the opposite direction (he was not one of those assholes who blew smoke in someone's face. Unless he was angry, anyway). Then he leaned over to Dakota, placing a cold hand on his face to turn his head towards his, then closed the space between them with his lips.

Dakota just closed his eyes and tried to calm himself, when he heard shuffling next to him and Talon's voice. "You sound like the therapist my parents made me see when I started having insomnia after the time I woke up with my bed in flames." What did he have in mind? Hopefully not what his therapist suggested. Journaling didn't do much for him.
He was about to ask when he felt a hand on his cheek, cold to the touch on his hot skin. He opened his eyes in alarm at the feeling to feel Talon's lips connect with his own. He was shocked, not knowing where this had come from or how he'd given off the impression that he'd wanted to be kissed. All he knew was that it was happening, his roommate, who was also a guy was kissing him.
Dakota didn't remember the last time he'd kissed anybody. It'd been over a year. He'd become withdrawn from people and not as social as he used to be since his power happened. He didn't like to get this close to people because of what could happen, he could hurt them. His fire may not be able to hurt him, but it could hurt others.
"What...are you doing?" he mumbled, pulling away just enough so that his lips were hovering over Talon's, feeling completely awkward. And why hadn't he been completely repulsed? He still felt as if he was on fire, heat radiating off of him.

Talon wrinkled his nose at being called a therapist, but didn't comment. He hated therapists, mostly because they kept trying to help him when he didn't need help. To someone who did need and want help, fine. But he didn't.
He was shocked at how hot Dakota's skin was and began to wonder if kissing him would help cool him down or just make it worse. EVen the guy's lips were quite warm to the touch. To Talon's lips, which were quite cold, it was a pleasant feeling. But when he wasn't being kissed back, he frowned. He felt Dakota pull away. Talon opened his eyes and looked with annoyance at the guy that was still very close to him. If he had freaked out completely and jumped up and backed away, Talon might have gotten the clue that Dakota wasn't gay like he had thought. Now, however, he was just confused as to why Dakota had pulled away.
"Er, I'm kissing you," he replied, not sure how else to answer that. "It calms me down when I'm worked up, so I figured it might help you. I'm helping you get over that guy," he added. "Jeez," he added, pressing the back of his hand to Dakota's face. Even though he hadn't been touching him a few moments before, he had felt the heat radiating off the guy. He had to pull his hand away, though. It was too hot. "You're like the inside of an oven."

Dakota wasn't sure how he'd gotten himself into this, or why Talon's lips felt good. They were so cool and so inviting against his warm lips, but he didn't understand it and so he pulled away, looking awkward after Talon gave his answer which is what he'd obviously been doing. Get over that guy? Did he mean like...as if Dakota had been interested in that Spiritus asshole? No, that wasn't it at all. But he did start to feel the edge be taken off when Talon kissed him.
He pondered this as Talon pressed the back of his hand to his face. "Sorry," he said when he pulled his hand away. "I know. I can't cool down." He blinked, trying to gather his thoughts. "I...I didn't know you were going to kiss me. I just..." What was he even saying? As if his face wasn't already heated.

Talon gave Dakota some space by sitting up properly so they weren't so close that they could feel each other's breath on their faces. "No, dude, it's fine. I guess I took you by surprise," he said with a half shrug. He leaned over to his desk and extinguished his cigarette, as if the writing table was actually an ash tray. Then he looked at Dakota pointedly, raising his eyebrows slightly.
"But you know now what I meant, so what do you say? Do you want to give it a shot?" he asked. "I mean, if kissing helps, then that's good. If it doesn't we can stop. Just trying to be of assistance here," he added with a small grin.

Dakota just stared at him as he turned away to put out his cigarette, noticing how he didn't even do it on the ash tray but on his desk. He also would have noticed how much Talon used the word dude, but everything was so heightened that he just needed a release. And maybe this could help. Maybe it's what he needed and he wouldn't have to release fire at all, but instead just the anger. It was worth a shot.
"Oh what the hell," he said, giving in. He didn't know what it meant that he was willing to kiss Talon, but he wasn't intent on finding out right now.

Talon's grin widened when Dakota agreed. They could both use the distraction. Dakota from his fire issues, and Talon from his life issues. Without another word he once again closed the space between them, glad that this time when he pressed his lips to his room mate's that he would be kissed in return. He knew Dakota's face would be too hot still, so he did not bother to put his hand to his face like he would usually. Instead he rest a hand on Dakota's thigh, but had no intention of doing anything more than just make out for a little while. Talon might have kissed a lot of people, male and female, but he was still a virgin. He might get a little frisky from time to time, but he had never been naked with anyone before. He didn't need to be. Kissing someone was enough of a distraction, and he was damned good at it, too. He focused all of his energy into it, all of his attention on the way his lips moved against the person whom he was kissing. In this instance, Dakota's heated ones.

Dakota wasn't sure what he was doing, in fact he was mostly unsure about why he was doing it. As a distraction? Because he liked it? Both? It made the anger start to fade away as he kissed Talon, finding it only odd for a moment that he was kissing the guy back, the guy who was his roommate and had just been so rudely smoking in their dorm room. He didn't care.
He felt a hand on his thigh and Dakota put a hand up against Talon's chest, gripping the other guy's leatehr jacket in his hand. It was something else to concentrate on, the moving of Talon's lips, the clashing of warm and cold, and the way his anger faded into lustful thoughts he didn't know he could have. He could only hope that his hand wasn't burning through Talon's jacket.

He felt Dakota's hand grip his jacket and in response leaned in to him more. The heat radiating from the guy was intense. Talon could not tell if this was helping or not, but did not want to stop to ask. He supposed if it wasn't helping and the bedsheets caught fire, they could always stop. Or not stop. Either way did not honestly matter to Talon. He never thought that if he actually went it would be by fire, but he could take a little bedroom inferno if that meant he'd never have to face life again. His sister suffered, so why shouldn't he?
He clenched his hand around Dakota's steamy thigh and intensified the kiss in order to wipe away thoughts of what happened to his sister. He was not only doing this for Dakota. No, definitely not. He felt his own heart rate quicken and soon the jacket was too hot to have on. What with Dakota's hold on it and the heat emanating from the guy he was kissing, the leather jacket was just too suffocating. He shrugged it off without averting much of his attention from Dakota's lips. There was still a cool breeze coming in through the window. It helped, but damn was this guy hot.

Dakota didn't know if it was helping, because the closeness of Talon only seemed to make him heat up even more. But he didn't take much time to think about it, instead aware of the touch of Talon's hand on his thigh and his eager lips on his own. He was clenching his jacket so tightly as he kissed him, he was surprised that he didn't burn right through the material.
As Talon shrugged off the jacket easily, Dakota's hand fell away from the material and he couldn't stop himself from moving his hands over Talon's bare skin. Normally he'd worry about if he was hurting him, but his thoughts were far from that as their lips molded together. He was so caught up in it all, in his emotions that were only fueling the fire that was building up. The fire needed to be released whether he wanted to let it or not, but he didn't want to take his lips off of Talon's and his control was slipping.

He couldn't help but flinch when he felt Dakota's hands on his bare skin. His room mate's hands were hot. He didn't push him away, however. This was too good. The heat, the kissing, all of it. He thought it was possible that Dakota had gotten even hotter and not cooler, but he distracted himself with Dakota's lips. He reacted in response to the increasing passion between them. It was like the temperature surrounding them was bringing out an animalistic intensity as their lips moved with a ferocious intent. It had been a while since he had kissed someone like this. He didn't know how much longer he would be able to stand Dakota's heat, but he didn't want to stop. The skin on his chest Dakota's hand was touching felt like it was literally on fire. His hand on Dakota's thigh felt like he was touching the side of a pot that was on a stove on the highest heat. But no, he didn't want to pull away. He would deal with the consequences later.

Dakota couldn't even feel the cool breeze drifting in from the window anymore. He was concentrated on the heat being exchanged between him and Talon and nothing else. His hands roamed Talon's chest and his lips never left his for a moment. Talon didn't seem intent on stopping either, so that only made Dakota continue, because there was no hesitation or pulling away or any sign of Talon being hurt. He was burning up and Talon with him, and he felt as it had surrounded them and wouldn't release them at all.
Dakota leaned into Talon this time, moving the other boy backwards on the bed so that Dakota had fallen on top of him, he steadied himself over Talon with one hand gripping the sheet and the other still on Talon's chest, his lips still greedily devouring Talon's. That is, until Dakota caught the familiar burning smell of fire and he pulled away, the sheet he'd been clenching in his hand scorched. Not only that, but he knew his other hand had emitted fire as well and he immediately pulled away from Talon, breathing heavily. "Shit," he swore as he moved his hands from the sheet, setting the rest of it on fire as he felt unable to control it. "Are y-you okay?" he stammered. "We have to get water. Now."

He was sweating now. He could feel it. But that was just a natural reaction to heat, so it didn't stop Talon from allowing Dakota to push him backwards and trap him beneath the boy's furnace of a body. The heat was becoming unbearable but Talon's hormones were winning over his nerves, and so he didn't do much when he thought he smelled burning until he felt his own chest come into contact with fire. Talon's eyes opened wide after Dakota got off him and he jumped off the bed, yelling.
"Shit! Shit!" His hands slapped at the burning flesh on his chest and it went out immediately, but that did not get rid of the burn. He cringed from the pain and didn't want to move, but the flames on the sheets were spreading as Dakota kept touching things. He grabbed his leather jacket -- no way was he letting that catch fire -- and wiped a bead of sweat from his forehead. "Water," he repeated, clenching his jaw and nodding. Damn, his chest hurt. Trying his best to ignore the pain, he dashed into the bathroom and dumped the garbage bin's contents onto the floor so he could fill it with water. "Don't move!" he called into the dorm room. He didn't want the fire to spread by Dakota touching anything else. Once the bin was mostly full, Talon carried it into the bedroom. He tossed it onto the flaming bedsheets, hoping it would be enough. His cigarettes were stashed under the bed.

Dakota stared helplessly at Talon. This is what he'd been afraid of, hurting others and his lack of control over fire made it so he had burned Talon's chest. He winced, watching as Talon yelled in pain. He didn't mean to do that! This was why he shouldn't have this power, this is why he hated it. Fire was dangerous and it only made him angrier that he was cursed with this power when the flames spread across Talon's bed.
He stayed frozen where Talon had left him, hearing him tell him not to move as his gaze went from the bedsheets on fire to his hands and the sleeves of his shirt which were on fire at the moment. It didn't hurt though. It never did.
Then Talon came in with the garbage bin filled to the brim with water and dumped it on the bed. The water doused the flames and they went out, the faint smell of smoke still in the air. Dakota was silent for a moment afterwards, as he didn't want to believe what he'd done.
"Maybe I shouldn't be allowed to have roommates," he muttered.

The flames in the bed went out, leaving behind sopping sheets and water seeping into the mattress. Talon's nostrils flared as they took in the scent of burning. But he still smelled fire. He turned to Dakota, whose clothing was still in flames. His eyes widened. "Shit, dude, you're on fire!" Just looking at him was painful, so Talon dashed back into the bathroom, filled the bin and ran back out to douse his room mate. He wasn't sure if it would work, but he wasn't really thinking about it either. When he sees fire, his first instinct is to kill it with water.
