Talon gritted his teeth in agreement. Yeah, therapy did either help or make things worse. In his case, therapy had a negative effect. Only the people who wanted to be helped could be helped, and Talon strayed far from that category.
He raised an intrigued eyebrow at his room mate. "If it happens again? So you're considering making out with me again? Awesome," he grinned. "Dude I wouldn't have cared if you... never mind," he said. It was probably not a good time to get into the whole 'If you had killed me I'd have preferred that' business. Whenever Talon spoke freely about how he wanted to literally die, people tended to get really uncomfortable. Or worse, they'd try comforting him. As if he needed that shit! "The ice is helping, but I think I need to clean the burn before it gets infected or something," he said. He looked to Dakota. "Could you?" he asked.

Dakota didn't necessarily mean it that way. He didn't know what he wanted, but all he knew was that there was some sort of odd attraction to his roommate that he couldn't explain. But Talon was grinning at the idea. "I didn't..." he trailed off, listening to Talon's next statement. "You wouldn't have cared if I fried you to a crisp?" That seemed to be the direction Talon was going. He got the impression that Talon either hated himself or the world, maybe a combination of both, but it merely made Dakota curious. He pursed his lips together, licking them nervously before speaking again. "Well, I would. So you might have to find someone else to do it." It was a little bit of a joke, Dakota's stab at being humorous.
He nodded at him. "Right, the saline solution." He grabbed it from the night stand along with some cotton balls he'd nabbed and sat down beside Talon, hoping his hands weren't capable of burning him again. He had seemed to cool down since his outburst. He slowly poured some onto the cotton ball and moved the ice from the burn, dabbing at the burn as gently as he could. "Sorry if I'm hurting you."

Talon just shrugged at Dakota's question, not wanting to give a direct answer. "Well it wouldn't hurt anymore if you had," he muttered matter-of-factly. He definitely preferred this pain to the other pain he always felt. But this pain would go away eventually. The other he was stuck with. It would haunt him forever. He met Dakota's eyes briefly when he made his joke, but looked away, not wanting him room mate to see the truth in them. "I'll just find someone else, then," he joked back, but the humour was lost in his voice.
He lay still as Dakota prepared the saline. He winced slightly when Dakota removed the ice, immediately wanting it back, but once he started cleaning the wound, Talon began to relax. It still hurt, but somehow it helped. "You're not," he assured Dakota. "I mean, it kind of hurts, but I'm still really numb from the ice, so it's not that bad. You're mostly helping right now." He smiled gratefully at him.

Talon's answer to his question threw Dakota off slightly. It wouldn't have hurt anymore if you had. What did that mean? What wouldn't hurt anymore? Was he still talking about the burning or about something else? He raised an eyebrow at his roommate, slightly hurt by his comment, even if it was a joke. Find somebody else? Why did Dakota object to that idea? Was he ignoring the fact that he actually enjoyed kissing Talon up until the point when he burned him?
"I'm just glad I didn't do any more damage than this," he said as he dabbed the saline solution on the burn, wincing at the damage he'd done. "Thanks for...not hating me after this. I lost control of my power. Fire isn't really my thing. It's a cool power, but...I feel like it was given to the wrong person." He finished with the saline solution, putting the cap back on the bottle and returning the ice to Talon.

Talon averted his eyes when Dakota looked at him. He did not want to see the expression on his room mate's face. Instead he propped himself up on his elbows, wincing, and watched as Dakota cleaned the burn, taking a last drag of his cigarette before extinguishing it on their third roommate's bed.
"Nah, I wouldn't hate you for this. If I didn't like you before, then yeah, I'd hate your guts," he admitted with a nonchalant shrug. "But I can't hate you for something you did by accident. It was my idea to make out, anyway." He grinned at that, the memory of their bodies pressed close together and their lips explore each other's flashed through his mind. Man, he couldn't wait to do that again. He only hoped Dakota would want to again. He hoped that a lot. He took the ice back and placed it back on the wound, sitting up as he did so. It felt a bit better, but he knew it would be a few days before it didn't look so... burnt. "Well what powers do you think you should have gotten?" he asked.
