"Agreed," she said, unable to supress her smile when he sat as close to her as possible. She giggled as he shifted more and bumped into her lightly as he tried sitting even closer. She wished it were possible, but this would have to do. "You're hilarious," she told him as she once again rested her head on his shoulder. Even sitting, they were both at the perfect height. It was almost as if her head and his shoulder were made for each other or something. While she wasn't sure she believed that for certain, she allowed herself to. It was a nice thought and she didn't see why it couldn't be possible.
Mikayla angled her body slightly so she could comfortably wrap both of her arms around Gabe, basically hugging him from the side. She clasped her fingers together once her arms were around so they could rest there. "You're comfortable," she said softly. "I just thought you should know that. I could probably fall asleep like this if we were inside where it was warmer. But this is good," she decided. Yes, it definitely was. "Am I keeping you warm at all?" she asked, her voice tinged with slight concern. Now that they weren't walking, he was more susceptible to the wintery night air.

"You're keeping me warmer than my suit is," Gabe said with a laugh. He couldn't hide the shiver in his voice. But he didn't want Mikayla to be concerned. It was his idea to go outside in the dead of winter anyway. But he needed to get away from the hot, sweaty gym. When she wrapped her arms around him he did feel a bit warmer, but there was only so much Mikayla's small frame could do - even to a short guy like Gabe.
"You know..." he said leaning his head on hers for a moment. "There is something I can think of that may help a little more..." he started. He wasn't sure how to go through with the suggestion however. It was slightly awkward to suggest a kiss, at least in Gabe's head. Then again, in Gabe's head everything was slightly awkward. So instead he took his head of of Mikayla's and put his finger beneath Mikayla's chin. He tilted her face upward toward his, and leaned toward her. "Stop me if you want," he whispered before placing his slightly chilled lips onto hers sweetly.

Her smile ebbed away slightly when she noticed he was shivering. She could hear the slight chatter in his voice and the way his body tensed beneath her arms. Before she could do anything about it, though, Gabe brought the idea up first. Her smile reappeared as he hinted at it, and she allowed him to lift her chin. She almost laughed when he gave her the option to stop him. As if! She closed her eyes as she felt him lean closer and shivered slightly in anticipation and then delight when his lips touched hers. His were cold, but she didn't mind. She would help to warm them up quickly enough. She slid her arms from around him and up his torso, across the fold where his jacket met his shirt until her hands were on his shoulders. Her fingers slipped beneath his jacket collar as she kissed him back, then gripped the material, pulling his upper body closer to hers. She had no intention of stopping him.

Gabe slipped his hands down around Mikayla's waist, or at least as close as they could get in the position they were in. And as Mikayla's hands found their way around his neck Gabe smiled into the kiss. The way she pulled his body in toward her own was all Gabe needed to know that she wanted to kiss him just as bad as he wanted to kiss her. His grip tightened slightly, as if when he loosened his arms Mikayla would slip away.
Gabe let his lips part slightly as he pulled away momentarily, only to move in again for another, deeper kiss. Her lips tasted like the peppermint hot chocolate Gabe knew she loved so much. And as the kissing continued, the cold bothered Gabe less and less. All Gabe could focus on was the girl in his arms and the way she made him feel. He hoped his kisses would show Mikayla even just the surface of how much she meant to him. How much he was beginning to...dare he think it?... love her.

She wasn't usually so forceful right away, so caught in the passion of the moment. Mikayla usually liked soft and sweet kisses that slowly escalated, and so maybe it was because of the dance or because she just cared for him so much right then, but she let the passion overtake her. She wondered if he would notice and what he would think, but he obviously wasn't bothered by it, and for that she was grateful. She didn't want her lips to ever part his or their bodies to ever distance themselves.
She eventually shifted herself so that she was on his lap, her legs parallel to the bench seat but her torso twisted towards him. It was much easier and more pleasant than sitting side by side on the bench, and it would probably keep him even warmer. Not that Mikayla was thinking much about that anymore as her heart pounded in her chest and she breathed him him. His lips were a lot warmer now from the workout they were getting, and she grinned at the thought. Eventually she loosened her grip on his jacket collar and slowly moved her hands to lightly cup either side of his neck. She traced her thumbs along his jawline and then followed with her lips, tasting the saltiness of his skin on her lips before meeting his again with a grin.

Gabe smiled into the kisses again as Mikayla worked her way onto his lap. This allowed his hands to wrap even tighter around her middle. He loosened them just a little though, to rub small circles in her back with his thumbs. He was almost disappointed when her lips drifted from his. A small pout formed on his face, but it was erased quickly as Mik traced his jawline with her thumbs, followed by her lips. He sighed silently just before her lips pressed against his again, practically taking Gabe's breath away.
He regained his composure, and pulled Mikayla closer than ever. His hands squeezed her sides slightly and his lips moved to her neck for a moment as he attempted to drive her just as crazy as she was managing to dive him. But in the fame fashion as his date, his lips found their way back to hers. Their kisses were becoming more and more passionate, and Gabe had all but forgotten the freezing weather they were sitting in. He parted his lips and let his tongue trace Mikayla's bottom lip lightly as if asking permission.

Mikayla giggled at Gabe's reaction, then wrapped her arms around his neck when he pulled her closer. When he kissed her neck, she sighed audibly in enjoyment and tilted her head slightly to expose the skin. When his lips once again met hers, she breathed in deeply and quickly, then brought a hand to his cheek, unable to keep her hands off him.
She was so glad they had decided to ditch the actual ball and come out here on their own. They could have kissed at the ball, but she much preferred the privacy they had out there. There was no way she would kiss anyone like this with people watching. Not for this long, anyway. But with just Gabe she was less shy, and so when she felt his tongue on her lips, she parted them, the corners of her mouth turned up in yet another smile. It was impossible not to smile when it came to Gabe. He was basically perfect, or as close to it as could get. She loved the way he kissed her, the way he sometimes got all nervous and fumbled over his words, how gentle he was with her, the sound of his voice and the way he sang that song on their first date... If that wasn't perfect, then nothing else came even close.
She lifted a hand to his hair, but nearly knocked his glasses off in the process. She stopped kissing him for a moment and laughed. "Silly," she whispered to him, pecking his lips. "Why do you still have these on?"

Gabe's head was knocked to the side a little when Mikayla's hand clipped his glasses. He laughed a little though. But when Mikayla laughed he became slightly confused. His grip on her loosened a bit so he could lean back and look at her questioningly, even though she couldn't see it. He knew they didn't always talk about their powers. Having them was so normal to them that it rarely came up in conversation. But there was no way she could have forgotten. "What do you mean?" he asked her. "I mean my power still works in the dark," he laughed a bit, but really couldn't understand why Mikayla would think he shouldn't be wearing his glasses.

The smile remained on her face, but her forehead crinkled in confusion. Was he being serious? "Yeah," she said slowly. "But they don't work on me, remember?" She laughed again and nudged his shoulder playfully with her hand. "Did you really forget?" she teased, and shook her head. Maybe he was distracted by the dance or something and the fact that his powers didn't work on her had slipped his mind. She arched a brow at him and lifted her hand to take the glasses off for him. She was glad they had tested his powers that one time. His glasses were definitely not something he needed to wear outside when it was already dark and his powers did not work on her. Plus they were getting in the way of their kissing.

It clicked in Gabe head very very suddenly. His jaw hung open, as he searched for words to say or to use in an attempt to explain what had happened and that he didn't really know if his power worked on her. But before he could even say anything, her hands were on his glasses and getting ready to take them off. "Woah!" he yelped, jumping back a little, Mikayla falling off his lap. "Oh my gosh, sorry..." he said feeling worse that she had fallen off him than the lie he had told. That is until he remembered he had to tell her.
"Sorry... I uh..." he touched his glasses. "Mik I..." he sighed. "I didn't mean to jump back like that. But... I had to," he said. "I had to because I... didn't actually take off my glasses that day. I forgot about it, actually," he admitted warily, feeling back about the lie, but not realizing how big of a deal it was to Mikayla.

"Your sarcasm is misplaced, it seems because that," Gavin paused, grinning at her. "is a lie." He tapped her nose, pleased with himself. She'd seemed to like the necking. Of course she had. Aura was crazy about him. It didn't take much to realize that. It was amusing to him.
He took a cup of his own, filling it with the punch and taking a sip. "Not bad," he said, wondering what the hell Uriel had even given to them to put into the punch. Probably some weird ass witchcraft potion from Russia. Figures.
"Everything, huh?" He smirked over at Aura as he took another sip. "We'll have to change that."

Mace only continued to smile at the girl in front of him. Sure, he could continue in his desperate search for Mikayla and her mystery date, but the idea seemed futile. He'd much rather strike up conversation with cute girls or influence probability so that some interesting things would happen. Now that sounded entertaining. Mikayla had to tell him eventually anyway. He'd get it out of her. The brunette didn't say much and he wondered why. She went by Cat. He'd seen her around Spiritus. Well, it was a smaller school and Mace usually made it a point to know everybody anyway. Although he wasn't quite sure on her power. He pegged her for something risky or daring though. She had that spark about her. "True, the douche count is up from last year. Although Gavin Maddox is still going strong at the top of my douchiest guys at Spiritus list," Mace announced, as if it was some sort of competition. Gavin was his roommate, so he knew very well that he was a douche.
"Yep," he confirmed with a grin. "And I know. I know mostly everybody." He shrugged and held out his hand to meet hers to shake, but she'd pulled hers away. Confused, he lowered his hand to his side, but said nothing, only giving her a wary stare. "Thanks." He touched his tie once more. "You can never go wrong with plaid. It's my favorite color." He winked to show it was a joke.

"I guess you make a good point," Dakota told Rafi, shrugging his shoulders. He felt kind of bad, for feeling all sorry for himself. He had the power of fire, a cool power and here he was acting like a scarred child, when Rafi had the power of resurrection. He must seem pathetic. But then again, Rafi was way too nice...not to mention, charming.
As he was pondering this, Rafi took his cup from his hands and he watched as the boy proceeded to smell it and then drink it. He waited for a response and when he finally got one, he nodded his head. "Of course, it's spiked." He didn't remember the last time he had alcohol, but he definitely knew that it wasn't this strong last time and that he didn't feel this woozy off of a cup of any alcohol. What was this stuff? He took the cup back and looked down at it once more before tossing it away into the garbage can near them. He didn't need any extra help acting like a complete idiot in front of someone. Especially not someone as cute as Rafi.
Damn, he thought he was cute?
---------------------------------
"How am I supposed to know? I haven't known you that long to know what you're capable of, although I imagine with that power of yours, committing a felony would be quite easy," Everett pointed out, shaking his head. He was by no means judging her, but then again, Marley fascinated him. He didn't know what to expect next. He might have some sort of vague idea, but even then she seemed to change it up and shock him.
He was about to respond to her comment of the only way he would die when she made another one. "Hey," he said, raising one of his hands off of her waist to point in a way he thought was threatening. "No bringing my weakness into this. Would Superman want you to talk about Kryptonite in public with him? No! Heroes do not talk about their weaknesses and others are most certainly not supposed to know them! That ruins everything." Of course he was on a tirade about superheroes again, it always came back to that.

Just as her fingers grazed the cold plastic of his glasses, he moved suddenly and she was knocked off his lap. She shrieked in surprise, not meaning to be so loud but not having expected to end up on the cold, hard dirt ground in her ball dress. She sat there a moment, stunned. She wasn't really mad at him for dumping her to the ground, since she was sure he hadn't done it purposefully, but as she pushed herself to her feet and brushed dirt and grass from her bare legs and where she could only guess it was on her dress, she felt a pang of annoyance.
"What do you mean you never actually took them off?" she asked slowly, keeping her voice even. She faced the direction his voice was coming from, not even sure if he was on the bench or somewhere else. She was a little disoriented from the fall and not being able to see. "You told me you did. We were testing your power because it's only supposed to work on people who can see your eyes, Gabe," she reminded him. The reality of the situation hit her harder than the ground had when she fell off the bench. "Gabe, you lied to me." Her face fell.

Aura scrunched her nose after Gavin tapped it, then made a face at him. "Yeah, well," she said, and left it at that, taking another sip of the punch. It was good, she had to give it that. And it was making her feel warm. Or maybe that was Gavin.
She smiled innocently at him, channelling some of her old self to do so, then brought the cup to her lips again. "Yes, we shall," she said, then tipped the rest of the drink back. It was punch, for goodness sake. She didn't care if it was spiked; she didn't care to sip it any longer. She wanted to have some fun. Specifically with Gavin. Specifically to do with their bet. She winked at Gavin, then set the empty cup down. Her thirst was quenched. "Come on," she told him, beckoning him with a finger. "I want to dance again."

He was smiling at her, and if Cat wasn't over-thinking it, he was being flirty with her. That definitely means he doesn't know what her power is, she thought wryly to herself, but she would freely (guiltily) enjoy the attention while it lasted... "Gavin Maddox, huh? Yeah, I've seen him around- he's the smug one of the Trouble Trio, right?" Cat laughed, a twinkle in her eye as she gestured to him and Aura-... "Or should I say Troublesome Two?" She raised an eyebrow at the intimacy she was greeted with, noting it with interest, before quickly averting her eyes away. She had something much better to look at anyway, she grinned, now facing Mace fully- dare she think, a new friend to talk to.
"I know," He told her after she introduced herself, and his confession made Cat pause. "I know mostly everybody." He shrugged, like he didn't just say he knew her, because people didn't just shrug after knowing Cat- they bit back a scream and edged the heck away. As she rubbed the nape of her neck, she was even more surprised when he looked confused she refused to shake hands- and Cat was then regretful she didn't, because she wouldn't have the chance to see if he really would've...
"You're right, you never can go wrong with that color." Cat just smirked instead, quickly hiding how bizarre this was making her feel. "But I'm curious to know how your date is going to match you..." She subtly continued, trying to measure his reaction to that. Raising an eyebrow playfully, Cat was more confident to be her usual flirty and fun self around him, and take what he would reply.

Dakota laughed at Dakota's reaction. Most teen boys would jump at the chance to get wasted at a school dance without much repercussion. Dakota seemed to be turned off my the drink in his hand however. "Most people would pay for that, you know?" Rafi said. "Not me, of course. My Abuela would tell me the drink is like the devil. I learned the hard way there is truth behind those words." He chuckled at the memory. Sometimes the way he talked made Rafi feel old. He sighed. Perhaps he was getting old. He was 18 after all - an adult.
Marley lost track of what Everett was talking about fairly quickly. She raised an eyebrow as he continued to ramble about his superheros. When he finally finished, she gave him a moment to continue in case he was really just catching his breath to start talking again. Once she was sure he was done, however, she commented, "I don't give a shit if your superman or otherwise I'm going to use your weakness against you." She shrugged, "I mean... at least to make fun of you. The way you got all skittish at the first sign of a thunderstorm was pretty fucking hysterical."
Gabe rushed forward to help Mikayla up. He was more worried about her being hurt physically than emotionally at first. Then Gabe's mind started scrambling for words at the sight of Mikayla's smile fading away. The disappointment in her voice hit him like a semi traveling 60 mph on a busy highway. "I...I... didn't... I mean... I... I couldn't. I just..." the hurt she showed in her eyes was more than a blind girl should ever be able to muster. "I didn't mean to. It just kind of happened... I got scared. I chickened out," he admitted to Mikayla, hoping she would maybe understand. She had to. Right?
