It was a long day and Sylvia needed to cool down before she hurt someone, so the best way she knew was to leave the area to somewhere more quiet-like. The people here just loved to test her temper, especially when hey were insulting her and calling her the most hurtful names known to ... well known to her anyway. Sylvia just needed to get away, needed to get away from everyone and be alone. When she stopped in the middle of the Cranbrook forest, she began to pace back and forth, back and forth, and vise-versa.
"Come on Silv ... don't crack," Sylvia muttered angirly to herself. "Calm and cool, calm and cool. Stay calm and nothing happens." As she spoke to herself, her tattoos and eyes began to glow a bright green and loose objects around her began to hover in mid-air. Instead of cooling down, she ended up getting herself angrier. "No no no, stay ... calm ..." Sylvia continued to pace, hoping her anger would subside enough to head back to school property.

Dakota knew he was being stupid, as he meandered through the forest that separated the two schools from each other. The forest was a place where he rarely felt safe or calm, it was the setting for most of his nightmares, including the one that resulted in waking up in a bed in flames. He was having them again, those same horrid dreams where he was in the forest and suddenly, everything was igniting in flames, until he was surrounded by fire and then it swallowed him up with it, and he too became a part of the fire. It freaked him out every time even though he knew what to expect. He figured that maybe if he actually went in the forest, it'd help somehow.
So far, all he wanted was to go back to his dorm room and continue to apologize to his roommate for having burned his chest. He was walking slowly, eyes darting around, hoping that his dreams suddenly didn't become reality, when he saw a figure in the distance. Somebody was pacing.
As he neared them, he realized it was a girl, she was in his grade. The second thing he noticed, were the things around her that began to float in the air, such as nearby rocks. He looked back at her, making the connection. Much more useful power than his and safer too. "Telekinesis?" he asked, taking a step forward.

Sylvia heard footsteps in the woods distant from her, but she ignored the sounds as she tried to concentrate on her own breathing. 'In and out,' she thought, 'in and out.' She continued to pace until the footsteps became closer. She stopped her pacing and listened for the footsteps, but they had stopped crunching the leaves beneath them.
Sylvia whipped right around making a boy, about her age, go flying to the ground. "Oh jeez I'm so sorry!" she exclaims running to him. Her anger had subsided for now, but she knew better than to put it off. "Are you ok? A-are you hurt or something??" Sylvia's eyes and tattoos were still glowing as she bent down into a crouch next the the boy. He looked no older than she, in fact, she recognized him from last period before she bolted out with her boiling rage.

The minute Dakota said something, the girl turned around and suddenly Dakota was on the ground, sprawled out in the leaves lying on the ground, from the change in seasons happening around them. He blinked, staring up at the sky for a moment until a girl with fiery red hair appeared over him, bending down and repeatedly asking if he was okay.
He stared at her for a moment, at her glowing eyes, before finding words. "Uh, I'm fine. Did you...do that?" What had happened? It was like he just randomly keeled over or something. Besides, he was pretty sure his power could cause more damage to somebody. "Sorry if I scared you. I didn't realize someone else would be out here." He just hoped to take the edge off of his mood so he didn't end up lighting something on fire.

Sylvia sighed in relief when he knew he was all right. She hated it when that happened. Someone tried to talk with her, and next thing they both know they're in a bird bath or something. It was embarrassing, really it was. Thankfully this took her mind off of her anger.
"Sorry about that," Sylvia finally said holding out her hand to help him back on his feel. "I'm usually my controlled than that, really I am." A sigh escaped her as her eyes turned back to the pretty yellows they were, and her tattoos stopped glowing green as well. "I was just mad, and you kinda threw me off my calming routine." Sylvia smiled, trying to hide how embarrassed she was for throwing him down on the ground with her uncontrolled Telekinesis.

"No problem," Dakota told her as she helped him up, hesitantly taking her hand and letting go of it immediately, afraid he might burn her or something with how things had been going lately. He rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "I kind of fail at being in control of my powers too and I'm sure you're not as bad as I am." He was convinced that nobody possibly could be.
"Mad?" he asked. "Sorry...didn't mean to intrude." Although he knew what it was like to feel such strong anger that you had to try to talk yourself down from it. That's sort of what he was doing in the middle of the forest. Funny how that worked.

Sylvia pulled him up off the ground and let go of his hand when he did. His hand was pretty warm, especially for an average person, but she didn't make note of it. She thought for a moment at what he meant by 'not that bad'. "Well," she began, "if you're saying I can control my powers better than you, it's not true if I'm in an angry state." Sylvia scratched her arm, then flinched when she accidentally scratched her burned tattoo. "If I wasn't upset, I wouldn't have been able to even pick you up off the ground." Sylvia finally added, not making any note that her arm was hurting her at the moment.
"Nah, it's cool," she said coolly. "You distracted me from what I was mad at anyway." A smile made it's way onto her mouth, then it faded as she looked back at the tiny damaged spot where she was pacing. "Though if you try pacing, it doesn't really work." Sylvia told him as she pointed to the spot.

"Funny," Dakota said, a crooked smile on his face as he got to his feet. "Anger makes my power really uncontrollable as well. We might have to have a contest to see who is worse at controlling their power." At least somebody knew how he felt, somewhat anyway. But how did her power work? What exactly was it? He didn't want to be too intrusive, but he wanted to know. He'd seen her around before, her head of fiery hair moving in between people in the hallways.
"It's so hard to calm down, isn't it?" He asked, knowing from experience as he looked over at the spot on the grass that was worn down.

Sylvia let out a soft snicker at his comment. "We'd probably be on the front page of the school paper if we had one." she said smirking wide. "It'd probably be more of a warning than an invite to watch though." Sylvia brushed her fiery red hair away from her eyes as she looked at him. From time to time she had seen him in the halls, though he was mostly alone. She had also heard many things about his power, that in a second he could probably burn down the school if he wanted to, but he didn't seem like that at all. In fact, he seemed way to nice to even think of burning anything.
Another sigh escaped her lips. "I do have a routine I like to do whenever I'm upset, but that doesn't seem to be working because I'm to mad to calm down." she said through her teeth as loose objects around them began to float again, but she stopped herself before she could do any damage. "Sorry, lost my mind for a minute."

"True," Dakota agreed, knowing that they both seemed sort of disastrous. He could probably control his powers if he wanted to, but he was afraid of them and absolutely hated fire. He wondered how she felt about her powers. He remembered her from a class and from the halls, but he really didn't know her that well. Dakota hadn't tried to make many friends and felt sort of isolated. "Sylvia, right?" he asked, racking his brain for her name.
"It's okay," he said warily as objects began to float and then fell to the ground around them. "I...what are you so angry about?" He'd felt the rage lately too. It was that Spiritus jerk, not to mention rumors he'd been hearing about him being dangerous because he'd burned his roommate. How it got around he had no idea.

"That's my name," Sylvia told him with a nod, "but I prefer to be called Silver, if you don't mind." She didn't mind people calling her Sylvia, but it was nice to be called by her nickname too. Silver tapped her bottom lip as she thought of his name. "Dakota, right? The one with the fire manipulation?" she asked him softly. Silver had always wondered how that worked, but never really got a chance to ask. Though, Silver was always on the go, running down halls to her next class or just plainly having a little fun.
Silver sighed lightly as she tried to keep her anger to a minimum. "You saw me in last period, didn't you?" she asked him, "pretty well the whole class heard those damn insults." It hurt her when someone called her weak because she wasn't as strong as the others. Yes, she could fight with her fists fairly well, but when it came to her powers she couldn't even lift up a human, well, unless she was mad anyway. Her yellow eyes looked at him for a moment, trying to figure out what upset him. He couldn't possibly snap hat easily, could he? "I have to wonder," Silver finally began, "how do you calm your nerves? I mean, you must have something you can do so you won't explode."
ooc: I'm calling her Silver from now on, so that you don't get confused and all.

"Okay, Silver it is then," Dakota said with a nod, wondering how she'd gotten such a nickname. "And yeah, Dakota." When she mentioned his power, he said in a soft voice "Unfortunately." Fire Manipulation...he still wondered how he'd ended up with the power. He didn't want to use it. He didn't want any part of it. It had ruined his life, his confidence, made him afraid, an insomniac.
He lowered his head. He had heard. How could he have not? Some of those same classmates made fun of him, for being a failure at using his power. It was as if they purposely tried to make him angry. And he hated that it worked. "I'm sorry I didn't...say anything. It's kind of messed up, isn't it? How in regular high school, you just get made fun of for how you look or dress, but here, it's what power you have and how you use it." He was shaking his head, listening to Sylvia's question.
He shrugged in reply. "Getting fresh air helps...sometimes." Otherwise, he wasn't really sure what else he did to help calm himself down, except running. "Well, going on runs usually helps clear my head. That and hockey...back when I used to play before I was sent here. Although I have a feeling I'd just melt the ice now."

Silver tilted her head softly to the side, letting her red hair flow in the same direction. "I bet it would be a great power if you knew how to use it." she told him with a bright smile. "I was afraid of my powers too for the longest time, but hey, at least I have one power that I have full control over." Then suddenly, she jumped up, crossed her legs, and just floated there. Silver smirked wide and extended her arms in the air. "Ta-da!" she exclaimed with a laugh. "No cupboard is high enough for this red-head!"
She then sighed and looked him in the eyes. "It's all right," she said, "they would do worse to you if you said something." Silver didn't want that. She heard the nasty things they said about Dakota, why would she want him to have it worse? If he did spoke up, he would've been called a babysitter or something. It hurt Silver to know that they bullied others too, and she wished that she could just ... just ... 'No!' she thought in her head, 'not in front of a really nice guy who is actually trying to make converse with you!'
"Really? That works?" Silver asked him. "Huh, I should run more often then." With a smile, she thought for a moment about what she did to calm herself. Maybe it would work on him too? Might as well give it a shot. It wouldn't hurt to give some advice. "Well, when it's raining I like to take a walk in it. The rain helps me cool down a little." she admitted to him. "Weird, I know, but it does help. The sound of pounding rain on an umbrella is kinda soothing."

"It would, but the thing is, I don't want to have control over fire. I don't even want to have the power. I'm so afraid of it, afraid of myself. I've already hurt somebody...my roommate." Dakota tried not to think about it, about the fact that he'd made out with his roommate, who was a guy and then burned his chest. It was all still confusing to him. And he still felt horrible.
He burst out of his reverie when he saw Sylvia floating. "Now that," he said. "Is cool." He chuckled at her comment, wishing he could be that carefree. Although she got angry about what people said, she was still able to laugh and have fun. But who wouldn't get angry when they were treated like that?
"Yeah, running really takes your mind off of things. Get a destination in mind, bring your iPod and just lose yourself. It's easy." He understood what she meant about the rain as well. Sometimes when Dakota was out in the rain, he could hear his skin sizzle as the rain drops hit it. "I know what you mean though. I prefer water over fire any day. Unfortunately, I have to deal with fire."

Silver suddenly felt bad for making the 'I bet it's a great power' comment. "Sorry, I didn't know you were afraid of it." she said to him softly. "It must be hard to try to keep all that power balled into you at once." She knew how it felt, and by golly did it ever hurt. Silver thought again, tapping her bottom lip as she floated there in mid-air. "Hmmm ... have you ever tried releasing your anger in water?" Silver finally asked. It wasn't that bad of an idea. "Like, instead of fire, you create steam instead."
"I know!" Silver exclaimed as she flipped herself backwards, then suddenly falling down on her back. She landed with a big thud and an 'oof' coming out of her. "Ugh, not one of my greatest ideas ..." she groaned sitting up and rubbing her head. "Magnets are painful enough ..." This was mostly to herself. Powerful magnetic objects tend to make her head spin and cause pain. Luckily, this kind of pain only lasted for a few minutes.
Silver smirked some. "Yay, I'm not the only one who walks in the rain." she said to him smirking wider. "Though sometimes I just have to let it out. Somewhere quiet and deserted and I just explode. Scream, kick a tree, make rocks fly everywhere. After that I want to sleep." Silver rubbed her head and smiled a little.
