"I never said you couldn't dance. I just said it would be interesting to see you dance," Jade pointed out. Which it would be. But she understood the whole thing about not wanting to be around judgmental teenagers. "I get it. People suck. I've spent my whole life trying to weed through people to find the few I like to keep around. Unfortunately there are a lot of weeds." She smirked at him and saw that he tossed his bandage off. She wasn't about to go all concerned mother on him and so she said nothing. It was getting wet anyway. "People suck. Pity sucks. It all just sucks."
"Glad you approve of my idea. Cigarettes and good music. Please tell me you're into good stuff. Not some ridiculous pop gone wrong or gangster rap. Your answer is vital. It will decide your hotness factor that apparently my sister thinks you have." She laughed after that. "And no, that's not what she said by the way. You lost the game. She said that the way I saved you was totes romantic. However, I beg to differ, considering you didn't want to be saved." She felt ridiculous, speaking as Lanie did, but it helped to keep her character alive, as if she was there for Talon to see and speak to as well.

"Ugh," Talon sneered. "People. The world would be so much better off without them." I would be better off without the world. The world would be better off without me, he thought, but didn't say. He didn't think he had to. It was probably written all over his face. And so he dunked his head in the water, resurfacing in time to hear Jade's next words.
"I don't even want to know what gangster rap is," Talon admitted, curling his lip at the idea. "I don't think blood is very romantic," Talon said, eyebrows raised in amusement at Lanie's assumption. Life isn't a fairytale. "We'll find a room and lock ourselves in and blast our favourite CD's and smoke until the air in the room is no longer transparent." Now that sounded romantic to him. Or at least like a good time.

"Agreed. Sometimes I think I'd rather hang out with the dead," Jade told him, watching as he randomly dunked his head underwater. She'd caught a glimpse of the look on his face, a look that she'd seen on his face before. It was a similar one to when she found him on the bathroom floor or in the common room. He didn't want to be here. And she knew that, but he was trying, so she said nothing.
"Good. Because it's absolute shit," she said, grinning at him in approval. "And yeah, people seem to think I'm some gothic chick who would enjoy seeing blood just because I wear black, but I don't think it's romantic either." They had a similar sense of humor and Jade liked that.
She nodded at his suggestion, laying back on the water to float on her back. "Now that sounds awesome." That was her kind of snowball. An anti-snow ball. "Now this next question is very important, what music do you listen to?"

Sometimes I'd rather BE dead, Talon wanted to add, but knew it went without saying. Jade knew; she got the picture the night she saved him.
"You should really freak them out and starting dressing in vampiric clothing," he suggested jokingly. "Like black corset dresses with a sheer skirt and black gloves. And those vampiric high collars. Really freak 'em out and play up the stereotype. They'd stay far from you if you did that, that's for sure." Her phrasing brought an idea to his mind, and he had to ask, "Have people said anything to you about me?" he wondered. He knew people talked; a student attempting suicide was not going to go ignored. But had anyone said anything to Jade, since she had been the one to find him?
"Like I said, I only listen to good music," he said. "Alternative rock, some metal, some punk. Loud stuff, you know? Good, loud stuff." He arched a brow at her. "You?" If she listened to crap like Lady Gaga, he was so out of there.

"Now that would be interesting," Jade pointed out with a grin. She liked how Talon thought. "Go the extra mile and put on some black lipstick." She wondered what Rafi would say and grinned at the thought. He was her best friend, her partner in crime. "People stay far away from me anyway though." It was the truth. Not many people wanted much to do with her and they thought she was weird, mostly because she seemingly talked to people who weren't there.
She nodded slowly, taking in his question. "Yeah, I mean... a little. I feel like it's mostly for gossip purposes. It's stupid. We might be a special academy of students with powers, but they still like their drama." She rolled her eyes. "I don't see how it's any of their business though." It wasn't as if they cared about his life, they just cared about something interesting happening and Jade found that sickening. It was how a lot of people worked unfortunately. "It's only yours. Not even mine."
She averted her gaze over to him from where she floated on the surface, a smile on her lips. "I pegged you correctly in that respect. Now we can officially be friends." It was a joke, but she was glad that he had good taste. "Good, loud stuff. Sounds like my kind of music." She stopped floating on her back and began treading water again. "Favorite band? Go."
