His exhaustion hit her like a brick, and in her mind, she wished he would let her take some of it away. He really looked like he needed the energy, and Eloise was doing something furiously on her computer, barely even paying much attention to them. She sighed, realizing how long of a night it would be. If nobody was sleeping, and this was all they would be doing, sitting on separate beds and doing separate things, it would be very awkward. "Well, I have no problem."
When he sat on the empty bed, she continued to play with her hands in boredom. How would she get him to agree to give up his exhaustion? Adaryn knew for a fact that Cain would not return. Apparently if he couldn't kill the victim in their dream, he didn't gain the energy needed to come back again. She took a quick breath and she winced. God her ribs hurt... Wait! She could use that!
"Water anyone?" She asked, swinging her legs around and standing up quickly, taking a sharp breath. Adaryn let out a gasp of pain and fell to the floor. It did hurt, but she was playing it a bit more than she should. She let out a soft moan, clutching her ribs. She 'attempted' to get up again and 'failed'. "And Ella, if you are reading my mind, just go with it. Monroe needs it." Hopefully this plan would work. She wasn't letting him suffer.

Monroe was glad that they both had no problem with him staying there, not that he really thought they would, but he still liked to feel welcome. He plopped down on the bed and tried to keep himself from yawning. It was always hard when he was on a bed. He could just curl up and....no.
Eloise was over on her bed, doing her own thing. She seemed wrapped up in her laptop.
He looked over to see Adaryn standing up asking if anybody wanted water, but she'd collapsed after a sharp intake of breath. "Ad, what's wrong?" he asked, concern painting his features as he quickly got up and went to her side. She was holding her ribs. "Are you hurt? What happened after El woke me up?" He refused to say after he died.

God, Adaryn knew she was over exaggerating the injury, but she couldn't let him deal with all that exhaustion for much longer. He was miserable and she knew it. So since she knew that he wouldn't let her suffer, she was going to use that to her advantage. If she begged him for help falling asleep, he would help her with it.
"My ribs," Adaryn groaned softly, and then visibly flinched when he asked what else happened after he was pulled out. It was still a fresh memory and she didn't actually want to explain it anymore than he wanted to explain his experiences or admit that Cain almost killed him. "After he stabbed you and pulled the knife out, I went crawling for you and he didn't like that at all. He came over a-and pulled me up by my hair, forcing me to stand and said some very unpleasant things... She gulped, rubbing her head tenderly, as if she could still feel it. "After that he slammed me into a tree and I had the breath knocked out of me. He said some more unpleasant things after I crumpled to the floor and then he kicked me and I rolled over. He was about to stab me when you guys... woke me." Her ribs hadn't actually hurt as badly as she claimed until she started recalling the story. She loosened her grip, coughing once.
"The only strange this is that usually the pain subsides after a few minutes. This time it got worse... and when I recalled the dream... it started hurting even more." At least she was being somewhat honest there. But now it was to 'guilt' monroe into giving up his exhaustion. "Maybe I just need some rest..." She said and looked at Eloise "Do you have anything I could take to sleep?" Ella, say no. She instructed mentally, hoping Ella would hear.

Eloise raised her head up, finally acknowledging the fact than anybody else was in the room. "Oh... uh..." she hadn't been paying attention really. But it only took a moment for her to read Adaryn's mind and find out what she was up too. Monroe's mind was a lot more concerned and confusion as to why El didn't seem to care.
"No... no I don't," Eloise said simply with a shrug. "Sorry..." she tried to sound sympathetic but felt like she just came across overly tired. Which is how she felt. If El ACTUALLY had something she'd probably take it herself. Adaryn was going to get her fill from Monroe though so at least one of them would be getting a good night's sleep.

Monroe listened to what Adaryn had said and nodded slowly. She wasn't going to divulge what Cain had said, but it was enough to make the rage bubble inside of him again. He knew that Adaryn could probably feel it. He bit his lip. "I think you're right about that. You should get some rest. We need to be well-rested to face Cain again." He sat down on the floor next to her and reached for her hand, raising it to his face. "Do your thing, Ad. At least one of us will be getting some rest." He hadn't wanted to give it to her, but as long as she wanted it and knew her dreams would not involve Cain. He would not put her through that.
Eloise seemed really out of it, focused on something else instead. "El, what are you doing over there?"

"Research. Doesn't matter," Eloise responded somewhat quietly. "Just help Adaryn ok?" She half snapped to Monroe. Adaryn internally laughed at this and Eloise couldn't help but smile a little knowing full well what her friend was trying to do. El was simply trying not to interfere.
"You know we don't have drugs for it but if you'd just let her take some more exhaustion she'll sleep through the night and feel better," Eloise suggested, before turning to her computer and typing again. She'd talk to Monroe later. Once he gave in to Adaryn's plan.

He touched his hand to her cheek and she closed her eyes, already feeling the exhaustion practically seeping out of his fingers. "Thank you," She mumbled. Adaryn wasn't really saying it for herself, but rather for him. He thought he was helping her, but in reality, she was helping him. "I didn't mean to force you." She said before opening her eyes and making eye contact with him. It didn't even take long for her to find it, just like it hadn't been difficult for her to find it before the library. How much could this boy take.
It was coming to her in large waves, and she was trying to take as much of it as she possibly could without knocking out. It was getting difficult, her eyes drooping, but she forced them to stay open as she collected more, until it was practically all gone. There was a small amount for him to have just to be able to sleep, but not much else. Adaryn was now exhausted and her whole body felt heavy. She was going to pass out in a few moments, no matter where she was. "Monroe..." She said with a sleepy yawn. "Help me..? I don't think I can stand u-" She didn't even get to finish before she yawned again. She, being out of her right mind and too tired to care, leaned into monroe and fit her head into the crook of his neck. It was comfortable... so comfortable...

Monroe just nodded at Eloise. She was immersed in whatever research she was doing. He smiled softly at Adaryn. "Don't worry about it. I don't want to sleep tonight anyway." He knew that Cain wouldn't be infecting his dreams, but he was too freaked out by all that had happened that night.
Then he began to feel the exhaustion seeping away as Adaryn took it on. It was a relief for the clouded state of his mind to be gone. It wasn't often that he could think clearly without the exhaustion hanging over him like a thick fog. "Careful, don't take too much," he told her, grabbing her hand and lowering it before she leaned into him, her head in the crook of his neck. She was mumbling about needing help and he gladly obliged.
He stood, carefully lifting her, but instead of throwing her over his shoulder which he was sure would hurt her ribs, he scooped her up wedding style and walked her over to her bed, gently setting her down on the sheets. He didn't want to put her in any more pain. He smiled at her sleepy daze. That was how he felt a lot of the time.

Adaryn could have stayed in the position she was in on the floor for hours. Or at least, that was how she felt at the moment. Cold tile would be comfortable to Adaryn right now. But when he picked her up wedding style, she wimpered softly, wrapping her arms around his neck instinctively and burying her head in his chest. That probably had to be the most daring thing she had done all day, and the great thing was, she didn't care.
The bed was right next to where they sat on the floor, so she was only in his arms for a few seconds before he set her down. The moment her back hit the bed, she wanted to curl up and have a dreamless sleep. But before she did so, she felt the urge to thank Monroe. So she kept her arms around his neck and sat up, pulling him down the rest of the way. " Thank you Monroe..." she mumbled into his shirt. "Thank you for saving me..." And then she unwrapped her arms from around his neck and put her head on her pillow, instantly falling into that dreamless sleep that she needed so desperately.

Eloise couldn't help but look up at the two while Monroe helped Adaryn into bed. Their thoughts were enough to make her gag, but want to 'aw' at the same time. She wasn't exactly positive at the moment. So instead she just sort of watched and observed. As Adaryn fell asleep her mind was the most relaxed it has been since meeting her.
"She needed that for more than one reason," Ella told Monroe, breaking the silence once Adaryn had gone out. "I think that was the most at peace her mind has been since we got here..." she sighed, and turned back to her computer.

"No problem, Ad. Really." Monroe wasn't sure what else to say to her, but then she was fast asleep and he didn't have to worry about it. He heard Eloise's voice from behind him and turned around, surprised she was actually speaking. "Yeah...I know. It felt like a selfish thing to do, you know, but I'm glad that one of us is getting sleep."
He slowly walked over towards her. "What are you doing over there? Researching how to get blood stains out of your clothes?" It was a bad attempt at a joke.

"No but I might have to do that later," Eloise said with a slight laugh setting her computer aside and looking up at Monroe. "Sit down," she said motioning to the end of her bed, or the chair of her desk. "Stay awhile... we have some things to talk about," she said.
She glanced at her computer again, trying to think if there was anything else she could possibly search for with positive results. She had done it before though, and the only real answer she ever got was that she probably had severe melanoma and was going to die in the next 5 years. Bullshit.
"I mean... it's not super serious... I think. But I didn't want to bring it up while Ad was awake because she has so many other things going on," Eloise explained. "But... when I took your shirt off to try and find where you were bleeding... which obviously was nowhere. Hence my confusion," she half rambled feeling she had to explain herself for taking his shirt off. Since that was awkward as fuck to do in the first place, and she hoped she wouldn't ever have to do it again. "I just noticed you had like... a discoloration. On the back of your shoulder. Do you know anything about it?" she asked.

Monroe grinned at her. "Sorry about the blood by the way. I didn't mean to ruin your clothes, but I wasn't exactly planning on getting stabbed." He shrugged and and sat down on the chair by her desk, spinning around in it before looking at her. "That never means anything good..." he trailed off, wondering what it was that Eloise wanted to talk about. Did it have to do with why she was tapping away on her laptop?
She went into a long, winding explanation that was rather unnecessary. "I know why you took my shirt off, El. Don't worry." He almost laughed at the situation. It was comical and then she brought up the mark on his shoulder. The mark that nobody else had seen. "Uh, yeah...I've always just called it a birth mark though. It's oddly shaped like a crescent moon." He had to admit, it was rather strange. He never quite understood the marking, but there it was. "I don't really know anything other than that." He looked at her, his eyebrows knitting together in confusion. "Why?"

Ella took a moment to take off her hoodie. She turned her back to Monroe, and slipped her tanktop down just enough so that her mark was visible. "I don't know how dark it will be... it's darker in the daytime. But mine is shaped like a sun," she said, taking another moment to put her sweatshirt back on being kind of cold.
"I've been wondering about it all my life. Because who the hell has a mark shaped EXACTLY like the sun... or I guess in your case the moon. And... mine is weird it gets darker during the day. Kind of orange-ish." She wrinkled her eyebrows too, in her own sort of confusion. "My dad doesn't even know what it means. He says he's only seen one other person ever with this kind of mark. And... I don't know." She still had no clue what to make of it. But in her mind and in her gut she KNEW it meant SOMETHING. She knew Monroe could hear that in her voice, too.

Monroe tried to get a pretty good look at the marking on her skin. It wasn't very dark and so he had to squint to see it, but it reminded him of his own. Day and night. He gave her a quizzical look as he thought about. "Weird. Mine turns a bright blue at night. It practically glows. I have no idea what it means, but it's not as if I'm eager to show it off, you know?" Obviously Ella wasn't either. "My mom just thought it was a weird skin discoloration and thought nothing of it." The tone Eloise was using suggested that she was thinking that these birthmarks meant something. He agreed, but what did they mean? "Yours is day....mine is night," he mumbled.
