Mikayla could not help but to laugh at his comment. "Hey, but then everyone could fly if I brought a teensie tornado in, am I right? We could all get a glimpse into your power. And everyone would be just like you then since you can't land," she added, nudging him with her elbow gently since she wasn't one hundred percent sure how far away from her he sat. She didn't want to jab him in the side or anything. "Actually, wow, that was really morbid," she realised, her eyes widening slightly as a terrible image of students falling to their deaths from a tornado flashed through her mind. She grimaced and shook the thought away. "No tornadoes." She had no idea how to control them anyway, and had no intention of bringing one about. Luckily she had never been riled up or upset enough to conjure up anything more than a really windy storm -- but nothing near a tornado level.

Gabe chuckled at the suggestion Mikayla made. "Yeah it probably wouldn't be the best idea," he agreed. He looked over his shoulder at the clock on the wall. "Well I guess I should probably go study... which I probably still won't but you know... I got to tell my dad I at least tried," Gabe chuckled at his own joke. He would probably just end up messing around on his guitar. "It's been really nice talking to you," he said honestly. "And we'll definitely have to see what we can do about teaching you piano," he smiled at her genuinely, and stood up, grabbing his back pack, and waiting for Mikayla to get up and follow so he could lead her out of the unfamiliar territory.

"I should probably study, too," Mikayla said, except she would actually hit the books. She enjoyed studying, although she did miss doing it the way everyone else did -- by reading the texts. She had to listen to them, which was really annoying. But perhaps one of the girls in her year would verbally study with her. There was a test in her English class in a few days and even though she was fairly confident that she could take the test now and Ace it, she wanted to take advantage of the time she had before the test to make absolutely sure.
She stood up from the bench and swung a leg over so she was no longer trapped behind it, then waited for Gabe's footsteps so she could follow. Even though she was perfectly capable of finding her way around the rest of the school, this area was new to her. She would surely get lost on her own. "It's been really nice talking to you as well, Gabe," she told him with a smile. "And the mini piano lesson was great, too." She was truly grateful, though, that he had taken the time and shown her she did not need to see to be able to play an instrument. "Our chance meeting today was pretty lucky in the end, huh? I mean, now I know I am capable of piano playing, and you learned something new about your powers," she pointed out cheerfully.

"Right," Gabe said, hoping the tiny shred of guilt in his voice didn't come across. "Yeah my powers... pretty amazing," he tried to say it as if he meant it, and Gabe could be quite the actor. He rubbed the back of his neck. "Yeah I'm glad I fell into you," he said with a chuckle. "Well... no I'm not. I wish I hadn't and we just met like normal human beings. I'm still sorry about my crappy landing by the way... but yeah. I'm glad we met," he rambled as he cursed his awkwardness. "And I'm sure I'll be seeing you more now... well I'll be sure of it. I don't know how but... welll... do you have a phone?" he asked. "I could give you my number or something or... can you use a phone?...sorry... I'm... rambling again."

Mikayla shook her head. "I know what you meant. I'm glad you fell into me too. Thanks for dinner, by the way," she added, remembering how he had bought her another meal after she dropped her first all over the cafeteria floor.
She raised her eyebrows as he rambled on, and bit back a chuckle. He had described himself as awkward, and perhaps he was just that, but Mikayla found it to be endearing. She smiled. "I can use a phone," she assured him with a node of her head. "And yes, I do have one." She fished her phone out from her back pocket and held it out so he could enter his number into the contacts. It worked like a regular phone -- it was a regular phone. But it was enabled so that it spoke text messages and emails aloud. There were a pair of headphones in her pocket as well, so she did not have to have all of her private messages read aloud for anyone nearby to hear.

Gabe smiled, glad that Mikayla wasn't offended by his questions. He took the phone, and entered his number. He then took the liberty to quickly send himself a message so he would have her number too. "I'm just going to text myself from your phone real quick..." he explained. And once he heard a piano riff play in his pocket he knew that it had sent through. "There," he said handing her phone back. "And now I have your number too... don't be afraid to text me or call me or whatever... I mean... yeah just... we should hang out soon so... or maybe I'll call you. Whatever," he chuckled and ran his hand through his hair. "It was really nice meeting you," he said one last time.

Mikayla nodded when he handed her back her phone. "Sounds good," she told him, smiling as his phone's notification tone went off as he received the text he had sent himself. She wondered what he had written, but since it didn't really matter she only wondered enough to wonder, and not enough to become so curious that she plays the message back aloud. That would be weird.
She lifted her phone until it was a few inches from her face and pressed the talk button. "Call Gabriel. Or Gabe," she added, not sure exactly what he had put into her phone. "Sorry," she said to him as his phone went off again. "Just making sure the voice thing works so I don't try to text or call you in the future and my phone gets all 'I do not understand the request' on me," she laughed.

Gabe picked up his phone, and hung up again as Mikayla called him to test it. "Yeah it's in there as Gabe," he told her to clarify, sticking his phone in his pocket. He opened the last door into the hallway. "So uh... can you get back to your room from here?" he asked her, wanting to make sure. "We're just down the hall from the language department... if that helps any... and the cafeteria is down the hall and to the left..." he hoped that she could. He would have no problem walking her to the other side of the school though.

Mikayla locked her phone and put it back in her pocket. She was glad it worked; later she would not have to worry, and she definitely planned on sending Gabe a text later. He was a great guy and she could see them being friends. He was super nice and she would be stupid not to surround herself with people like him. She walked through the door Gabe opened and nodded as he explained where they were. "Sounds good," she told him. "I can get around from here no problem. Thanks again," she added with a friendly smile. "I'll see you around, okay? Well, you know what I mean," she said, her smile growing to a grin.

Gabe smiled, a recognition of the humor which of course Mikayla couldn't see. But Gabe didn't think much of it. His smile reflected in his voice anyway. "Later," he called, back walking in the opposite direction of where she would have to go to get to the girls dorm. The grin on her face made him smile more. She was really cool. In the vacant halls he lifted his feet off the ground to float off to his dorm, making a mental note to call this girl sometime.
